Boardwalk Auction

The auction link now says SOLD. It still says reserve not met though. I wonder if they sold it for less than the reserve??

Dean/Shontelle:

"I think you might be right about Ocean Pointe. I wish I had bought pre-construction there myself."

I bought 2 weeks in Ocean Pointe before it was built. I bought in a very good price, but since I don't follow timeshare news, why would you have liked to buy back then?

Resales at Ocean Pointe currently are at or above the original contruction price...and Ocean Pointe currently trades extremely well through Interval International. II will give any season owner a "bonus" week when they deposit for a trade somewhere else.

You made a wise decision, in my opinion. Dean, your thoughts?

Best regards,
Shontell

Wow, Dean is a pediatrician? I would have guessed financial planner.

We used to have a medical director at the HMO:eek: I work for (don't flame me Dean, they are heavily regulated here in Mass, so they are not that bad) and he was BOTH a pediatrician and a lawyer...we thought it was an odd combination, since one usually thinks of those two careers as opposite ends of the spectrum.

Don't worry, I work for an HMO. It's a very good, not for profit, patient oriented company.

As for OP, I have mixed emotions. I had the chance to buy in at or near the lowest level so I drove down from DVC VB and looked around. I must say I was not impressed with the immediate area. We have since stayed there and still were not overly impressed. I would never have bought there to use routinely but I think the trading advantage might have been worth the extra expense at the time compared to what I ended up buying, only time will tell. As far as worth the money at today's prices, I doubt it. I went back and checked my notes to find that a 2 BR Ocean side was $14900 Platinum and $11900 Gold.
