I don't know if anyone is aware but there is a government related auction of a BWV contract at Auction Page . I thought others might be interested in seeing this.

Gee Only 56 bucks a point....... wonder if Disney would use their ROFR on this! LOL

I was tempted to "ask the seller" what the current dues are and if there are any banked/borrowed points! ROFL

Apparently he worked for the Post Office and got caught taking bribes if what I heard previously was correct. It doens't like like it's going to be a bargain as it starts at $14000 with a higher reserve. IMO, one would need to get it for the starting price to make it worth fooling the the auction plus not being able to know the points availability. I'm not sure if the buyer would be responsible for back maint fees either. You can register and go into the Due Diligence portion and get a lot more info. Apparently he owned at Marriott's Ocean Pointe and Beachplace Towers as well.

Dean:

You Never cease to amaze me. How do you find all this stuff?

Are you retired or are you a internet professional?

Best regards,

LOL, neither actually. I guess I am riding on the coat tails of the efforts put in by others. I keep my feelers out and they frequently produce results. I just dropped the big one on TUG about Marriott dropping 2 of the HH resorts, Spicebush and Swallowtail. It saddened me to report it as I know many friends that bought into these resorts to do internal Marriott Trading. I did have a Marriott friend who is actually a sales rep contact me recently thinking I might have some leads on a cheap Ocean Pointe week, maybe I should change professions.

Change professions, huh? I would certainly be confident in your information. You are definitely "connected". Let me know if you move to FL and get your license. (if you don't already have it)
What profession are you in now?

I would be interested in knowing if the existing mortgage and maintenance and taxes on that US Marshal auction would have to be paid by the buyer. I assume they would....otherwise, if it sounds too good to be true...

Best regards,
Shontell

PS - I know someone who has a few Ocean Pointe's if your friend still needs one. :D

Working in real estate or timeshare sales would take all the fun out of it, all I'd be left with would be a job. As far as Ocean Pointe, contact me privately or ask your friend to do so if you know of listings at around 50-60% of the Marriott developer price. I could then pass the info along. It's funny that I drove down from VB when Ocean Pointe was just a hole in the ground to decide whether I should buy there. I decided not to because of the surrounding community. With the preconstruction prices, I may have made the wrong choice with what I ended up buying, Harbour Pointe. While I saved money and have gotten great trades, I wonder if the future will continue to be as kind.

I'll decline the profession question though I wouldn't be surprised if anyone following these boards and DVCtalk might figure it out. Lets just say I'm not a lawyer, not in real estate and I'm too brutally honest to be a polician.

OK Dean. Now you have us all guessing:confused:

I am suprised that there were not many bids. But then again, there is little information to go off of (i.e. points used, etc). Unless of course Dean has that information too.:p

That's ok Dean, keep us guessing. Suspense makes it more fun.

Dean's profession is Expert Timeshare Consultant to DIS boards!

My guess is that the points are all there as no one could have used them. The issue is whether there would be any additional expenses like unpaid fees though hopefully that will come out of the sales proceeds. Did anyone here bid?

Figure it out, huh? Well, I would have guessed attorney, but you already took that away. I would tend to guess accountant or engineer based on your attention to detail. On the other hand, you are ALWAYS online, so your job has to be computer related in some way. Will you tell if someone guesses? ;)

I think you might be right about Ocean Pointe. I wish I had bought pre-construction there myself.

C'mon, tell us!

See, I told you someone would know. Besides I'm not on all the time, just get on everyday in the evening and at time at lunch and early in the AM.

Way to go Dumbo! Thank you!

Very funny Nick & Cindy. Good point...hehehe.

All the best,

Uh oh Dean, now in addition to questions on timeshares, everyone is going to want to know how to get their kids to sleep through the night. (Or am I the only one with children who don't sleep through the night? - sniff).

You ask easy questions, not. Reminds me of the guy that let the Genie out of the lamp. His final wish was for a road to HI. The Genie said what's you're second choice and the guy replied to understand women. Genie's response, two lanes or 4. My wife's glad the computer is my hobby. It keeps me home off hours and out of her hair if she wants to watch TV. I must admit I'm addicted to timeshares but I guess there are worse vices. Shontell, I already live in FL

I emailed the auction or seller. They sent me back an answer this morning. This is their answer:

Thank you for contacting Bid4Assets. There are no banked or leftover points on this timeshare. December is the month when the annual 250 points are awarded for this timeshare. When purchased, this timeshare will have 250 points total to use within the next year. Any outstanding fees on this timeshare will be paid by the U.S. Marshals prior to settlement.

Sounds pretty interesting.... I'm new to DVC -- justing closing on a resale at OKW but this was where I originally looked. I wonder what closing fees, etc will run.

I just checked the auction site (3pm central time) the bid was at 16,001.00 and the reserve had not been met. That's up to $64/point.
