Boardwalk area hotels comparison

I know that I can look at the "official threads" of each of these resorts, but I would like comparison opinions. We are going next June, and my husband actually wants to stay at one of these resorts. This is a big deal since he is usually not "into" the Disney planning.

If I can swing it, we might stay at the concierge level. So any comparisons of those at these hotels would be great too.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Have you looked at the accommodations section of allearsnet? http://allears.net/acc/faq_hot.htm

The left hand side of the page lists the three Boardwalk area, or Epcot area resorts. There is a wealth of information and photos so that you can study and compare.

For my opinion, I really liked the Yacht Club for a more toned-down, adult, but still fun atmosphere. The Beach Club is every bit as nice (we're headed there next month) as the Yacht Club, but it was full of busy families, if that works for you. Your post didn't state, but it seemed like the trip would be just the two of you. Don't know too much about the Boardwalk Hotel. These resorts' proximity to grown up restaurants and entertainment can't be beat, in my opinion.

Another vote for Yacht Club. Of all the EPCOT area resorts, DW and I like YC the most.

Stayed at both Yacht Club & BWI club level both were great. Keep in mind Yacht Club will be doing rehab starting 2009 so I was told by a manager at the Yacht Club last week. :)

all the epcot resorts are very nice. toss a dice, you can't go wrong ;)

We are partial to the Boardwalk. The Inn has just undergone renovations so most of those rooms are already updated. We love the restaurants available and being able to walk to the Studios and Epcot. Makes it really easy to walk to Epcot for a great meal at the variety of restaurants there.

If you are staying Club Level the BWI Innkeepers Club can't be beat. The staff is top notch!:thumbsup2 They go above and beyond to make your stay great and have become just like a close family to us. We love the resort itself and can't imagine staying anywhere else. The entertainment at night is fun and the overall atmosphere is what we love the most.:lovestruc I can't compare to the other resorts and I am sure they are nice too. Whatever you decide have a great trip. I can't wait for my short trip soon and our next family trip!!:cloud9:

I agree. It is equal walking distance to both Epcot and The Studios from
Boardwalk. Plus, after filling up at Beaches and Cream, you'll need a short walk to feel better;)

For us, the biggest difference between YC/BC and BWI is the pool area. We like the pool/outdoor areas at YC/BC better than those at BWI, but the rooms are the same except for decor.

It also seems like the outdoors is a little more "accessible" at YC/BC than BWI. At BWI it seemed like everywhere we needed to go was always down a very long hallway.

Another difference would be if you prefer to be on the Boardwalk or "looking at it". We like sitting on our balcony over at the YC and watching the Boardwalk across the lake.

Overall, this is our favorite hotel area at WDW and we would gladly stay at any of the resorts!
