I've never been to the boardwalk, and was looking forward to trying it out on this trip. I hear that it's much better to go in the evening.

If I stay at Epcot until illuminations ends, and then wander out to the boardwalk Will that be an active time to see some of the street performers and things?

Also, I would have to get back to pop century later. If I take a leisurely stroll through the boardwalk area, peek in a few places, check out some street performers, But don't eat anything or get drinks, will I have any transportation problems getting from there to downtown Disney and then back to pop century?

One of our favorite buskers, Coney Island Chris, lists this schedule:

Showtimes: 7:30 PM to 7:55 PM (SDGS), 8:10 PM to 8:35 PM (FF), 9:00 PM to 9:25 PM (SDGS), 9:45 PM to 10:10 PM (FF). Shows take place in two locations out on Disney's Boardwalk. The first area is in front of The Flying Fish Restaurant (FF) and the second area is in front of the Screen Door General Store (SDGS). In case of inclement weather the shows are moved indoors to the lobby of the BoardWalk Inn and near The Belle Vue Lounge.

There will be other acts performing at similar times, usually one is setting up as another is finishing up. You might want to stroll or boat to DHS, a short distance away, and take a bus to Pop.

We always do Jellyrolls and take a cab back to our resort if we're not staying in the Epcot Resorts area.

I would take a cab back to your resort its less than a 5 minute ride. Just go out front and you can catch a cab, there will probably be a few lined up waiting.

Take a cab. It's less than 8 mins away!!! Probably around $10 fare.

Adding on to the above -- using Disney Springs (Downtown Disney) as the transfer to get back Pop Century will likely be a pain -- not only is it the wrong direction, but it can take FOR-EVER.

instead of a cab you can use Uber and it is less then the normal cab. Used it my last trip from BLT to AKL Kidani and it was less dirt cheap

Yes, that's my favorite time of the day at Boardwalk.

Yes, use a cab. If you look at a map you'll see going to Disney Springs take you to the complete other end of the resort, then backtracks past Boardwalk to get to Pop in the other direction.

Cabs are always available at all resorts. There's someone at Bell Services who will call one over from the parking lot if there isn't one ready and waiting

Bill is that Carl in your signature picture?

Yep, we tend to stay at BW or another Epcot resort and this is our first 'ride' on arrival day, always good to see Carl again.

Us too! My family loves Carl. I tend to leave him in charge of Dad for a bit while we go around EC. He is one of the best bartenders in all of Disney. Cheers!
