Been to Disney World many times the past few years but have not visited the Boardwalk area for at least 15 years. It's an area of the park I just have never really gone to with family and thought it would be a fun evening in addition to going to Disney Springs on another night.

Will be going with my 7 year old daughter in November and looking for some advice and hidden gems for an afternoon/evening visiting the Boardwalk area.

So far I have found:
- Mini Golf
- Dinner at Garden Grove
- Renting a boat
- Watching EPCOT or Studios fireworks

Anything else that could be a fun way to spend an evening?

The boardwalk has a couple carnival games and street performers at night. There is also an art gallery, ice cream shop, bakery, and shops. There is a tiny arcade as well. Really, the feeling of the area, especially at night is lovely. Walk around the lake with your ice cream cone and you'll definitely feel the warm fuzzies.

As PP mentioned, there are carnival games and jugglers/magicians on the Boardwalk in the evening. There is also a caricature artist and you can rent surrey bikes as well. On some evenings, there will be a movie playing on the Village Green. You may want to save some room for dessert as the Boardwalk Bakery, general store and Ample Hills Ice Cream all have great, sweet offerings.

The surrey bike is fun, but hard, those hills are no joke! But also depends how many people you have an how many non peddlers.

The boardwalk games were fun too, we did the one where you got the lobster into a pot and had a small crowd of 5 or 6 people as my daughter and husband were doing well, it was fun!

There is really not a lot to do. Other than walking around the lake you could do it all in less than an hour.

Are you planning afternoon + evening, or just evening? Can't tell from your post.

I agree with PP that there is not a lot to do there. You mentioned mini golf and boat rental. If you don't do those things, then there is nothing there in the afternoon other than eating and shopping. (Surrey Bike Rental is available, weather permitting, from 8:30 am to 10:00 pm but it's $25 per half hour for a single bench and $25 per half hour for a double bench, and PP mentioned the hills.)

I'm not sure how much time the jugglers/magicians and games would take up in the evening.

The Mini-Golf is over the the Swan/Dolphin area. My DH and kids played there once and it was quite fun. It took them about an hour. There are two courses there, but they only did one.

The BW is our home resort, so we spend a few nights just hanging around. We enjoy the boat rental, surrey bike and watching the performers at night. We get ice cream and just sit out and enjoy the sights and people.

The bridge on the way over to EPCOT is a great place to watch the fireworks.

You can walk to the Fantasia mini-golf but that is more of an advanced course. For good old fashion mini golf head over to Winter/Summerland by Blizzard Beach. Fantasia is a beautiful course in the evening though so if you have a fan it may not matter that the course is more difficult.

If you are ice cream fans, head over to Ample Hills on the Boardwalk and try the Ooey Gooey Toffee Ice cream. OMG, so delicious.

Sports fans in the party? ESPN Zone will have the game on ( which one - most of them ). We also like to walk through the Wyland Gallery and if board games are your thing, the Bellevue Room has a selection of classic games that can be played inside or out on the deck.

The Fantasia mini-golf course is still open during the new Cove Hotel construction development in front of the Swan / Dolphin it can be extremely loud and generating lots of noise / dust. For now I would recomend Winter / Sunderland at Blizzard Beach as it can be a much quieter experience for for foreseeable future.

It is a nice to stroll around the lake, especially in the evening. During the day my children did enjoy the sea raycer boats, and of course there is always the boat transportation system that runs between Epcot, Boardwalk, Yacht and Beach Club, and Hollywood Studios. My daughter was always a big fan of pick a pearl places, and there is on on the Yacht and Beach Club side of the lake.

Hahahahaha this made me laugh. I went on with my husband and DD13 a couple of years ago. She wanted to sit in the front, so I sat in the back, thinking I could just sit, relax and take pictures/video! I sat in the back middle, away from the pedals. We approached the first hill and my husband was struggling! I started laughing and tried to move over to help, but the pedal kept spinning before I could get my foot on it, which made me laugh more, causing me to get weaker (Im laughing just thinking about it) and the next thing I know, a couple of pedestrians were behind our bike pushing us up the hill. I was dying. I havent laughed so much since. So embarrassing. Not for the weak :) !!

Wish I knew how to post a video here...it was very comical.
