We just closed on our contract and I reserved a 1 bedroom preferres view for the second week in March. I asked for a room with a view of illuminations and of the boardwalk. Is there anything else I need to do? Should I ask for a specific room. The host said they put in a request for a higher floor with view.
help,
I want this room to be very nice for our first trip
Thanks

Congratulations on your first reservation. I hope that your trip is magical.
Regarding your view: if you have a "preferred view," it will most likely NOT be a boardwalk view. It will be a water or pool view. Boardwalk views are a separate category, though they are the same number of points as a preferred view. You MIGHT luck out and get what is called "village green," which is considered preferred and overlooks the grassy area between the BW lobby and the lake, and you would have an angle view of the BW and be able to see some Epcot fireworks. In order to get a BW view it is often necessary, especially during busier seasons, to book your room 11 months out. You can request that you be put on a waitlist for a BW view for your upcoming stay.
In any event, try not to fall into the trap of letting this issue become too important. I think you will love BW and, with pixiedust from your DIS friends, maybe your view wishes will come true! Good luck! :wizard:

Congratulations!!! That being said good luck on your room request, but don't be dissappointed If you don't get that"perfect" view.We gave up on room requests and just request standard view rooms. We have never been disappointed since. The boardwalk is close and you can see the fireworks everynite if you wish.I understand that you have to really request the bw view as far out as possible..but good luck and have a great time..

Welcome Home!!! Our first trip 'home' was perfect. We just didn't realize how perfect!!! We booked a studio, preferred view. We ended up on the top floor over Muscles and Bustles. We had a great view of Crescent Lake, the BW and some terrific IllumiNations shots!! But, that being said...I think it's really hard to ask for something specific. When we booked our trip over Thanksgiving, the MS lady asked if we enjoyed our room in August. Said that yes, it was perfect. That we loved the Village Green view. She told me that she would note that on our reservations and maybe we would get a similar view but in a one-bedroom. And no, it didn't happen. We ended up with a nice view of the quiet pool and Community Hall. We loved that view also. So, relax about the view from your room. You're in WDW....enjoy!!!

We just booked an Halloween stay BWV's (1st time stay at our home resort). We wanted to save points & get a standard veiw room but they are already sold out. So we have a preferred view-Boardwalk view room. From the sounds of it we are very lucky to get that. We might be able to see some part of Illuminations from there??? That would be so cool!! ::MickeyMo
