Boards Running Slow?

I've been having trouble a lot lately with the boards loading. It doesn't matter if it's the main page or individual forums. It takes way too long for them to load and my posts seem to take too long as well. Sometimes, it gets hung up on trying to load that I just stop it. I don't have this problem with any of other web sights I frequent. So I don't know if it's my computer or a lot of people using the DISboards that slow it down

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Sadly, I'm experiencing the same thing. I generally make the other boards my home, as this board can be just brutally slow at times. I wish it was the other way around...

...any of the board admins know what's going on?

Yep. Really bad today.

I normally have to pay solitaire waiting for pages to load. (I also have issues with getting kicked off. )

Maybe the new welcome center will generate loads of new business and some of it will funnel into additional forum upgrades. I would love it if we could someday post picks directly to the boards and not have to use a third party.

I've been having problems for awhile. I don't know if it's due to a lot of traffic on the DISboards that is slowing the server down or something else

I also had problems yesterday where the pages wouldn't load and I would get an error. One was when I was trying to post.

I rarely get this site to load at all now, so I am taking advantage of this one time I have to let administration know about it. Thanks, I love this site, and miss reading it.

I've had the same problem for a long time. I have a DSL, and no other website I go to has as much trouble loading as this one. I often have to go do other things while I'm waiting for a post to load. It does keep me from coming here as often as I'd like. There are times it's slower than others...I'm assuming that happens when there's more traffic on the site.

To paraphrase, the DIS is having some hosting challenges and is moving to new equipment, a new hosting service, and none of this is easy. I believe Pete said that they hope to be cut over by the end of April.
