Refresh my memory please, when boarding the ship, one passes through a metal detector, correct? Not a full body scanner like at the airports?

Kate

So to clarify, my memory was that it was a metal detector, like they USED to have at the airports, not the high tech full body scanners that they now have at many airports.

At this point, yes. Same when getting back on the ship from a port.

Airports still have normal metal detectors as well. :)

But yes that is what ports have.

I guess it depends on your airports. I haven't seen a plain metal detector type scanner at an airport in quite a while. But I'm sure SOME must still have them.
MCO still has them. I believe any airport that participates in TSA PreCheck has them still in use. But you are correct that back scatter scanners are much more prominent now for most people.
