I had an interesting situation last Wed. We were at OKW. On Tuesday, an envelope with boarding passes/tags was on our door. First time for me since I normally fly JB, not SW. When I got to RAC, the next day, I completely forgot I had those bp's in my bag, and RAC printed up new bp's for us. We got to security, and this bp's wouldn't scan! They tried three times, then told me we had to go back to the SW counter and get new bp's! I remembered we had those sheets printed out, so gave that to the security guy. Worked perfectly!
I think I remember others saying they had a similar situation. I have to wonder why it happened. I've used RAC for bp's many times, with no issues.
Any thoughts?

Was the printing on the boarding passes that RAC printed out faint? I had problems earlier this near (coming home from Africa, not WDW) because the boarding passes I had (printed at the departure airport) were faint. They were fine at the departure airport (I think they manually entered everything and I don't recall them scanning them at security), but at my connecting airport, security couldn't scan them and they also wouldn't scan when boarding - luckily I had a boarding pass on my phone so I could use that (I should have just used my phone in the first place at the gate, after my problems at security, but wasn't thinking).

We fly SW most times we go.
We took the ones printed and left at our door and they would not scan at the airport.
The security officer just told us that for some reason the WDW printed ones just don't work most of the time.
It wasn't too much of an issue though.

Crappy printers outside? Bad ink? Too low DPI on their printer settings?
Tons of reasons a print out won't work.
I wish SW would improve their app to have electronic boarding passes so this wasn't an issue.
I think it does only on iOS. Last I flew them the Droid app didn't.

Had this happen with SW at MCO too in June this year. TSA agent also told me they have a problem with the Disney issued BP scanning. Since we had pre-check for that particular flight and wanted to use it, and the time of day was not too crazy at MCO, we just went back to the kiosks you pass when walking from the DME drop off spot and reprinted the BP, those worked no problem.

Can't you use a screen shot of your boarding pass from your phone for SW?

Of course I do have an Iphone and it holds my BP but can't you send your boarding passes to a "wallet" on your android?

Not any way I know of. Droid phones don't really have a comparable wallet
If you notice the Southwest Documentation refers specifically to an iPhone wallet

On both my work phone and my personal phone (both are running Android OS), I use either the email or text option for my SW boarding passes. They open in my phone's gallery and scan easily. I haven't printed a paper BP for southwest in probably 2 years, including at Disney. If we have BPs printed for us I usually put them in my bag and always use my mobile bp on my phone.

I also use the text boarding pass from Southwest on my Android phone. Have not used paper in a couple of years.

I have the perfect solution, take me with you every time you fly SWA!! I will hold our BPs on my phone :-)

You should know to edit your headline given that RAC does not equal WDW, but other than that we have had glitches with RAC BPs. In our case all fight number info and bar codes were correct but for whatever reason the wrong airline was printed. We got through security regardless but it was a confusing situation.

Actually, it was the ones left on our door that worked, not the RAC directly issues ones!! Yes, I do know the difference...in fact, spent a fairly long time explaining the difference to my dh last week!!! Just felt it was easier to put it that way since it involved two different sets of bp's.

Not sure that it matters but just wanted to jump in and say I flew JetBlue (since you mentioned JB/SW) this summer and I got a boarding pass on my door at CBR. I was soo happy because I didn't have any bags to check and was not really looking forward to having to go to the counter/kiosk to get a print out and with them doing it for me I could skip that step.

I've never had one left for me before!

This was my first time flying alone (I went through Worcester) and printing the boarding pass was something that was bothering me a little. When I saw the envelope I was a little puzzled but that quickly turned to pure joy that I didn't have to worry about it! I didn't realize they did that but it was incredibly convenient and took a weight off this nervous nelly. (Sorry to kind of hijack your thread)

Hey! Another Worc person. I love flying out of Worc.

We left Saturday, and our boarding passes weren't included with the DME envelope left on the door. I didn't know they even did that. I actually went to the front desk the day before we left to print our boarding passes (not knowing that RAC printed them for you). I had both sets of boarding passes but used the RAC ones at MCO security and everything was fine. We also flew SW.

Really??
Wow! I have had them on my door every trip (where we were flying home) right from WDW for the last 3 or 4 years. Sometimes we go over to our house in Melbourne before going home. Since AirTran is gone, we have flown SW exclusively to/from Orlando. I always forget they left them on the door, so we end up getting another at RAC. So luckiky by the timd I get to the airport, I only have to figure out where I put one set! Haha!
