Looking for some cool board game ideas....

Some we all can enjoy dh,me and dd almost 7.

Which are your favorite??

Our favorite is Life.

Apples to apples, Sorry, Last Word are some of our favorites.

I love Apples to Apples, Scrabble, Monopoly, Balderdash and Yahtzee. Pinochle and rummy also, but DD7 may not be ready for that yet and it's just cards, not technically a board game. :)

For two player games, I love Othello, Cribbage and Backgammon.

Disney Trivial Pursuit, Disney Monopoly, Disney Sorry, Disney Guess Who, Disney Scene It and Disney Music (like a Name that Tune with Disney songs).

We do have a few fave non-Disney games too - Life, Electronic Banking Monopoly, Connect Four and Uno.

Sorry and Blockus are our family's favorites. My DS 7 likes to play Rush Hour by himself.

CLUE was always my favorite!:thumbsup2

In our family we have kids of all ages and my nieces and nephews have grown up playing Scattergories, Balderdash, Sorry, UpWords, Othello, Monopoly, Life....

The older kids and adults also love Taboo, Trivial Pursuit also.

Linda

The kids always enjoyed LIFE and Sorry. They like Disney Trivia too. I loved the old school Trivial Pursuit.

The Magic Kingdom game is a favorite in this house, Also Pixar Monopoly, and Disney Sorry. That is mostly wiht DD's ages 11 and 14.

My boys like Chutes and ladders, Hi Ho Cherry Oh, and Candyland. Ages 7, 4

When dd was young, I really enjoyed playing Uno Attack with her. Because the number of cards the machine spits out at you is random, it made it easier for everyone to have a chance to win regardless of skill level.

She's a senior in high school now but still likes to play board games with Mom. The ones we play most often are Rack-O and Sequence (she loves this one because I am TERRIBLE at it.) We play a lot of card games, too.

We have "family board game night" pretty often. When we play, all 4 of us pick one game to play and we play those 4 -- Our current favorites are Sequence, Disney Scene It, Yahtzee, Life (electronic version), Monopoly (Here and Now) and we've just started Scattergories. Every Christmas, my girls (13 and 14) are excited to see what the new family game is......no better way to spend a couple quality hours with family! :thumbsup2

My kids like Life, Monopoly and Yahtzee when we all play together.

It helps having a big family, but we like pictonary! Scene it, Life, Sorry, Uno, monopoly - we like to play as teams! :thumbsup2 The boys kicked the girls butts here on Sunday!

:goodvibes .

I love stories like that. :goodvibes

We play a board game every night after homework, bath and dinner. I find it's SUCH a great way to reconnect as a family at the end of the day. I LOVE that your daughter is almost grown and she still enjoy's playing with you. I hope our daughter will be the same. That's wonderful!:flower3:

Clue was always my favorite. Disney Haunted Mansion Clue is also awesome. Cranium, Scattergories, and Apples to Apples are other good options.

HOWEVER, if anyone is looking for a board game for adults (it's too complex for little kids and has a horror theme to it), look no further than Arkham Horror. The best darn board game ever. We and our friends are absolutely obsessed with it.

Aww, it is sweet. I like it, too. ;) Her friends will come over and we'll have game night with them, too.

She still likes to color in coloring books, as well. One day, she had 3 girls and 4 boys over to our house. They were in our basement family rooms so I kept going down (offering snacks and drinks, etc) to make sure they were not doing anything they oughtn't.

At one point, I came downstairs and it was really quiet and I thought they were up to something. Imagine my surprise when I walked in and found eight 16 year olds watching a Disney movie and coloring. :rotfl: I came back up and told DH that I was just too cynical.
