Board games area?

Can anyone tell me if there is a lounge or conference room type area where people can play board games? I'm sure the staterooms are too small to set up a large board game, but I would think there is probably some type of area on the ship that is designed for this right? The ship is the Disney Wonder. Thanks!

Unless there's been a change in there - there are only like 3 or 4 tables large enough to play games on in the Crown & Fin. Not a great shot, but they were along the back wall - booth-style:



And no tables large enough in Promenade Lounge. The tables there were small with a raised center area:


When my husband & I want to play cards, if one of the tables in (what was then) Diversons wasn't available, we had to go up to the pool deck for big enough tables, or, sometimes inside Cabanas (if it wasn't too busy in there).

I wish Disney did have a room with tables large enough to play games on (like on most other cruiselines.

You can use the kids clubs when they're in open house, they even have a stash of their own (although you cant always guarantee that all the bit will be there, but most are new every couple of cruises....)

The games we would like to play require a 3' x 3' table that 4 people could sit around. Think regular folding card table. Anything basic (or fancy) like that?

Just the ones I've noted. But, on the pool deck, there are 2 different sizes, large and larger, and they're round. In Cabanas or the 4 booth tables in the pub are your best bet.

There are board games in Crown and Fin on the wonder for passengers to use. There were on the ledges above the booths

Cabanas is better. No wind! We have played Settlers of Catan with friends while binging on the buffet.

I would NOT try it during peak eating hours, but if the area is open I don't see why not. I think sometimes it may be used for meetings/classes though.

How long is your cruise? If less than 7 days I wouldn't bother bringing board games. There is so much to do on the ship.

Exactly. When we play in Cabanas, it's often on the "closed" side between actual mealtimes. Yes, it's acceptable, but I wouldn't try it during mealtimes.

The Crown and Fin had quite a few tables big enough for games. All of the booths would work as well as the low tables by the windows. I think you'd also be able to set up a board on top of the chess/backgammon tables if you don't mind sitting on tall chairs.

I'm not sure she the pictures above were taken of the Promenande lounge, but two weeks ago, the tables didn't have the raised section in the middle. (The main tables in Crown and Finn were also tall tables.) In fact, they often used the lounge for crafts and animation so I know the tables were perfectly flat for those activities. They aren't very large though.

In terms of Cabanas, unlike the Dream/Fantasy, that area was completely closed off for cleaning during non-meal times. I didn't try the doors, but there were signs posted that the area was closed.

I think Crown and Finn is your best bet.
