Was going to upgrade my credit card to one of these tomorrow. I was reading the website and it doesn't say anything about being able to book flights for 25% fewer AM. Has something changed with these cards recently? It's the only reason I would upgrade.

My DS wants flights to Calgary for this winter and it would make sense to upgrade if I can get the 25% discount.

I have both of these cards and YES you get the 25% of flights. It's the whole perk essentially of these two cards.

Thanks, I was getting conflicting info on various websites. I will go to the bank tomorrow and get them to do the upgrade.

How long do you think it will take for the discount to show up in my airmiles account re booking flights?

Hmm, not sure. I would expect pretty quickly, but I can't confirm that. I would just keep checking every day. Not sure the bank would know that either.

Thanks, went to the bank this morning and got the card switched over. The teller thought it would be quick coming as I was in there first things Monday morning. My sons flights will just have to wait until the card arrives.

They also have a special going on for Oct and Nov..... charge\spend $1,000 get 200 AM, charge 3,000 get 600 AM or charge $5,000 and get 2,000 bonus Airmiles . Since I will pay for my DVC fees, Marriott fees, 4 ten day park hoppers and other things I will qualify for the 2,000 miles. This promo seems to happen before Christmas

These deals are by single purchase only. It's not accumulative. You need to make a single $1,000 purchase to earn 200, etc. That is what I thought it to read...

The more qualifying purchases you make, the bigger the bonus, up to a maximum of 10,000 Bonus Miles.¹

Yikes, I just re read that. This must have changed from last year. That changes things...thanks for posting this

No worries! When I saw this email, I got all excited too! Then I was like, whoa! a $5,000 purchase?? Nope, not happening LOL

Ya I read that email a few weeks ago and deleted it because I wasn't going to be making any large purchases in the near future. The fridge died yesterday so today I went out and made that large purchase minus my email to get the extra airmiles. I put it on my Amex anyway so I'll get something for it. Booo!

The BMO World Elite REWARDS card is very good too. $1 in purchases = 2 points. Spend $5000 = 10000 Reward points = $100.
I have given up on Airmiles - I found the whole program became frustrating.
You can book Disneyworld packages, but not sure whether you can buy park tickets by themselves with points. I will report back on that.

Aww, that's too bad you are off the air miles train. I know some folks just can't seem to get the program to work for them, but I love it.

We have been cruising the last few years instead of going to all inclusives. I haven't paid for a flight in years. And now I have our 3 WDW passes, 1 US and 2 more US on the way.

Just checked on airmiles, looking for the flights my DS wanted. The 25% off discount is already showing up. Now I just have to wait to get the physical card and activate it before I can book the flights. So for anyone else who is thinking of upgrading their card. I had my new CC # within 24 hrs and Airmiles had the info in their system within 48 hrs of completing the upgrade at the bank. It's all up to Canada Post now.

Yay!! I didn't see this offer.....clearly I should pay more attention!
We just bought our US/IOA tickets and hubby is away with work next week so has just paid for a flight and then 4 nights in a 4* Marriott so that should give us an extra 1000 miles!!
I might have to speak to hubby about paying off our Disney balance, it's a couple of dollars over $5000 so we could get the extra 2000!!

REPORTING BACK - Yes, confirming you can buy park tickets by themselves with BMO reward points.

We upgraded our card last week, on Tuesday. Wednesday our card # changed, waiting on CP as well. Where do you see the info in the airmiles? We are gold AM members but I don't see anything different.

When I went in to book a flight (or look one up) it showed the regular AM needed for the flight which were crossed out. Then below that was the 25% off amount and a note saying that AM World Elite gets 25% off all flights in North America. It may be that AM hasn't updated your profile yet. Give it a day or two and check again.

Being Gold or Onyx air miles level members doesn't have anything to do with the 25% off flights. That is strictly for BMO Mastercard World or World Elite cardholders...My DH is a Gold level collector, but not a Mastercard cardholder, therefore, he only ever sees the regular air miles costs (i.e., no discounted fares).
