BMG or Columbia House?

Are these worth it? It seems like it would be a good deal, but I am sure there is a catch somewhere.

We have been members of both at some point in our lives.

The only catch was, you needed to buy a certain number of cd's at the regular price.

It was worth it, I thought, at the time.

Been thinking of signing up again.

I've done both for music in the past. I currently use Columbia House for movies. The only bad part is that their movies do cost a little more than say Walmart of Target at regular club prices. The sales are great once you meet the requirements.

I agree with lisa and Tina. There really is no "catch" to either of these. AND they are SO much easier now when you can receive and reply to "Selection of the Months" by e-mail. I definately think that I have gotten more than my money's worth at BMG! There are plenty of opportunities to buy where you can get your CDs for about $8 including Shipping and Handling.

If you want to build up a collection of CDs, this is a great way to do so.

BTW - BMG does not have EVERY CD out there - I guess none of them do. I was looking for Carole King's Tapestry and they did not have any Carole King. Probably depends on the recording companies that they have contracts with.

I prefer BMG since you only have to buy 1, but the catch is always the shipping(seems expensive), other than that, if you want to catch up on your cd collection they are a great idea...

We wouldn't have the great music collection that we do if it wasn't for these companies...I've belonged to both...with CH I had to buy 3 at regular price with BMG I had to buy 1...I liked BMG the best....I used the internet to decline or accept the Cd of the month.

You can cancel at any time after you have fulfilled your agreement.
