I just asked my sister and my good friend to join me in WDW at BCV for a Mummies and Babies trip while my DH is on a conference and they turned me down. They said as they had never gone before with their little ones they didn't want their husbands to miss it for the first time. I do understand but why, oh why can't everyone be as crazy for Disney as I am?

I can understand how disappointed you must be but I can also see wanting my DH there for that first glimpse of Mickey.

Actually I am not going to go... nervous about travelling on my own - what I need is to meet some nice DIS members in the Oakville/GTA area with wee ones and set up a trip!

I'm about 3 and a half hours away if I speed, does that qualify?

Seriously, I absolutely love that I can hop on a plane and in 3 hours or less, I'm looking at palm trees. Some of the deluxe transportation is exactly the same as shuttle transportation and a man or woman dressed in limo attire holds up a card with our name on it when we arrive at the airport. We then get a free trip to the local Publix; pick up goodies for the room (i.e. water; juice; snacks; beer for Daddy) and then we are off to our resort. We feel so catered too and it's bonus for our DD. DH says she is getting too big (she is 6) I say NEVER TO OLD I'm the big 4-0 this year and celebrated at the California Grill and watched the Wishes Celebration from one of the best locations in the world. I'll never get tired of Disney.

I here ya about being nervous...too bad I didn't live closer.

Isn't it the best eculmone?
I am dreaming about a Halloween trip – just a couple of short days, maybe a quick jaunt to Vero afterwards... heaven! Maybe I could splurge on the sebring convertible for the Vero part...
Just imagine that big whirlpool tub in the bathroom (ours is in the middle of a reno), lounging by the quiet pool, or watching the fireworks over the castle. Plus I still have two more restaurants on my "To Try" list - Marakesh and Le Cellier (I know, bad Canadian, but DH says it would be absurd to go).
Plus costumes – what to make for DD? Tinker bell with DH as Hook? She could be a penguin and I could go as Mary Poppins? Or maybe Mushu with DH as Shang? This is why the DIS is the best – when I am deeply rooted in reality I can escape for a few moments and dream about our next fairytale come true.
And the surprise I might have waiting in the room for the two of them - a Mulan doll for DD and some champagne and chocolate covered strawberries for DH? Does Disney have Halloween themed snowglobes? They must!

I can understand your friends point of view. One of the best moments we had at WDW was when dd saw the castle for the first time and said, "Daddy, look, the castle." We caught it on video. It's priceless. Seeing WDW with family is so incredibly special. S

I totally agree SandraC – I just was feeling a little down that they could not come with me. I would not have missed my DH seeing DD in Disney for the world, nor would I have wanted P and S to miss their little ones first visits! I just wish that they had already had their first family trip so that the girls could have come with me on my "Whirlwind weekend" but as my Mum says "If wishes were horses..."
