Just wondering how has the traffic/construction been in and around the Sarnia bridge lately? Long lines to cross? We always check the web site for border crossing but just wondering from locals etc...
Thanks!:goodvibes

One word....Terrible! We have nexus but I talked to a friend that crossed on friday at 6 pm and she waited over 1 hour. Canada day the wait was over 2 hours. For the price I highly recommend Nexus to anyone who will even be crossing once per year!

We have to cross in August with 2 kids that don't have Nexus on a thursday and we plan to be at the bridge about 8 am. We hope not to be there long but will allow 1 hour.

Actually I was just discussing it with my husband and since we can't use Nexus, he suggested we take the ferry from Sombra. This might be an idea for you. The line here is generally smaller.

We have Nexus so I'm not too worried but it was the construction that I'm wondering about too...

If you have Nexus, make sure you get off the highway(402), take Michigan (at Indian if it is open - check for signage) all the way down to front. If you get off at Modeland you will need to navigate around Michigan because of construction at Modeland and Michigan - take Blackwell (next left past Michigan - and it will bring you back to Michigan). When trafffic is backed up (and recently with the construction) the front street exit is blocked off, but if you hang a right at the first light (Lite St) you will come to the Nexus bypass which you can get closer to the tolls. If it is really busy, there will be someone there to help you navigate into the traffic. We are going over to camp in Michigan tomorrow and plan to go thru Nexus. I wait to buy my groceries once we cross (I have staples and snack type packaged food).

We will be travelling over Blue Water bridge on the Aug long weekend. We have Nexus, can someone advise what lane we are to be in on the bridge to make sure we hit the Nexus booth. We have never cross this bridge before and I worry about long lines on the Monday return home. Also is there a box on the Nexus line to hand in our declaration.

OT - We are travelling to Lansing MI at sons request. He is obsessed with MSU. Does anyone have any tips on things to do or place to eat or shop while there.
