Has anyone seen them? Is it worth taking DD 13 yrs to see them when we go up to Boston area in a few weeks? I don't know of anyone who has seen them

I haven't seen them personally, but a good friend of mine did when they went to Vegas in Oct. and she said it was awesome. Totally worth the $200 per person they paid, and she would do it again in a heartbeat!

$200.00 per person :earseek:

Too rich for me, even if I can afford it.

I would not pay that much, no matter how good they are.

Yikes......I know the tix in Boston are no where near $200. I think they are $46 - $56. I will have to look into it, I just heard it can be LOUD!

We paid 85 p/p in Vegas last year. It was well worth it. I did not think it was loud, but they did have disposable foam earplugs available (free!!!) before you went through the door. If your 13 year old is inot jazz rock fusion, and percussion, this is a not to be misses show. It has some comedy, it has some intense lighting, but it is a really well produced show. I would love to see it again.

We saw them in NYC about 6 years ago. It was a blast and a 13 year old would probably love it.

We sat in the second row- they provided plastic tarps for the first few rows to keep our clothes clean! We even got to participate in the show, twice :) . Yes, it's loud but I don't remember it being overbearing.

Definitely worth it.

Why do you need tarps? I hope only water.

Why do you need tarps?

I hope it's only water, whatever it is

It's not only water- I don't want to ruin it for anyone so I won't say what it is (or at least what it was, I know the show has changed since I saw it.) But once you find out what it is, it's not as disgusting as you think it is when it's first splattered on you during the show (does that make sense??:scratchin )

We saw them twice: once in NYC and once in a touring show here in CT. The shows were totally different from each other. I would imagine the Boston show would be more like the NYC show because it's a "permanent" venue. Both shows, however, were awesome! The one here in CT focused more on the music and was VERY loud. The one in NYC was a blast. Took 13 yo DS to both (at his request) and he LOVED them and he is a tough critic. He even has several of their CDs. Go for it--I'm sure you'll enjoy it!

We saw them while in Boston last year. None of us had heard of them so didn't know what to expect. It was some show. We got our tickets for half price the day of the show.

We saw Blue Man Group in Chicago a few years ago. It was VERY loud and somewhat messy for the people in the front rows (paint and food products). I'm not sure how different the Boston and Chicago shows are, but I can tell you a little about what we saw.

There was one part when the Blue Men came out into the crowd, walking on the arm rests of the seats and invading audience member's personal space. This was not done in a threatening manner, but more in a curious, impish way. That might freak out a 13 year old - but it was a minor part of the show and near the very end.

There were two parts that required an audience volunteer. I doubt if they would ask a 13 year old to participate, but I would politely refuse if your DD (or you) were asked.

Now I've got the song "White Rabbit" going through my head . . .

PS - there is rumor over at the Blue Man message board that Blue Man is going to play at Disneyland!

LINK - Blue Man at Disney?

I've seen them in NYC. I don't remember the price, but it was definitely less than $200! Far less than that. I think it was $40 or so. Anyway, it's a great one-of-a-kind experience, and you'll both have a great time. I was seated in the second half of the main level (there was also a mezzanine), and we didn't have the plastic "coats" (they reminded me of the ponchos at Disney), but we didn't need them.

YES YES YES YES YES

In 10th grade my class went on an overnight to Boston.
We went and saw Blue Man Group and it was one of the best things I have ever seen

When I went to Chicago last year for band, we saw Blue Man Group, and it was definitely the best part of the trip! I'm guessing that the show is different in different cities, but ours was amazing and I would definitely go again. The end was so much fun!

We saw them in Vegas. It was a fun and unique show, and I would recommend it...but not for $200. $40-$50 tops:D

My bf paid $90 a person for Vegas this January...it blew me away! Totally, totally amazing. You should see it no matter what :)

Thanks, everyone. I think it will be a"must do" for us while in Boston. Sounds like everyone had a great time, and enjoyed the show.
