I am not sure what all is offered there, but my kids did the dolphin encounter, and then we went to Stingray City and snorkeled with the stingrays! That was really neat!! We all enjoyed that very much. It was a neat little island, a nice little getaway for us. Would I do it again?? Well, for the first time it was neat, but to do it a second time, probably not. It WAS neat though. The dolphin encouter was just "okay" for my twins who were 9 at the time. Not that big of deal, I know I know- I am one of the extreme FEW to say that on these boards. I wouldn't pay the money to do the encounter again. Maybe put more money to it and do the full dolphin thing- not the encounter, but the full dolphin thing (can't remember name of it). The dolphin pushes you in the water- I'm sure you've heard of it.
Anyway, let me know if you have questions. If I were your hubby- I'd go ahead and bring my own stuff if I had it.

My husband and I also went to Blue Lagoon Island and enjoyed it very much. To me, it is just what a tropical island should look like! Lots of sand and palm trees. There were a lot of hammocks strung between the palm trees which my husband liked alot! We did the Swimming with the Stringrays excursion. We had never snorkeled before and found it to be easy. We got some great underwater pictures of stingrays and other tropical fish. My only complaint was that we didn't seem to have enough time on the island. I think there were some kayaks available for rent. I know I saw floats and those beach bikes. Between the stingray excursion and eating lunch, we didn't get a chance to hang out at the beach. All in all, I would recommend the excursion.

My wife and I will be going to the Blue Lagoon in April. I bring my own shorkeling equipment and she sits in a hammock and reads a book. We will be taking our kids this time ds 6 and dd 11. The shallow enclosed lagoon will be a great place for my dd to get her first practice at snorkeling.

Disney's trip comes with a free lunch, but we may take along some food and drinks from the ship.

I have done the snorkeling with stingrays and it was fun, but also a little scary. Some crazy man kept grabbing the rays and wrestling them to surface so his wife could take his picture. I was sure they would get mad and accidentally sting me!

You get there at about 10:00 am and you can either return at 2:00 or 3:00.

If you are not big on snorkeling, but would prefer to just sit on the beach, you can take a cab out to paradise island and use the public access way to get over to the beach.:earsboy: :earsgirl: :earsgirl: :earsboy:
