I've always wanted to eat here but assumed it was all about the fish.....now after reading the updated menu from Carrie_Cat (thank you!) I notice there is a chicken dish and a steak.

For once the children's menu would suit DS, he loves salmon - dd would probably go for the chicken but it's DH who is the fussy one.

Has anyone had the steak? This is what he usually goes for. :)

Also I can see one of the previous reviews mentioning a Teen menu - I'm guessing that's not there anymore?

Sadly it seems to have been discontinued. When we were there in 2008 there was definitely one in Walt's, Blue Lagoon and the Silver Spur, and maybe other restaurants too but that was where we ate. A great shame because apart from the 12-16 year olds that it was aimed at, it was a good compromise for a child that didn't find the childrens portion enough.

I asked about it last May but the CM didn't understand what I meant so it must have stopped some time ago.

My DDs had the chicken last May (and DH has had it on a previous visit) and liked it :thumbsup2 I had the ostrich which was very nice but I see it's not on the new menu.

Thanks :thumbsup2

I was hoping that I might find a review of the Grilled Fillet of Beef with Szechuan Pepper Sauce. I think it's about the only thing DH will eat.

Talk about fussy :lmao:

I want to go there for the setting/atmosphere alone, but if DH can't find anything he wants, he'll not be happy.....

This is my favourite restaurant because I lurrrrve fish :cheer2:
My dad and sister HATE fish but they're excited about the veal on the latest Blue Lagoon menu so have agreed to go!
Last year my friend had the ostrich steak - would your DH consider this? Aimee said it was more like red meat in its consistency than game, she really enjoyed it.
Sorry, we've not had the steak, but I'd put money on my sister ordering it in June.

You must be joking :rotfl:

He is very basic man food - steak & chips, burger & chips, lasagne maybe (with chips) or anything chinese......he is the fussy one in our house. The kids eat anything.

Looking at the new menu it's beef steak - so he would have this, but then likely moan about the portions.

Abbey and Lewis really want to eat here as they both love Pirates - me too - so I've got them working some magic on him ;)
