Blue Lagoon Question

I've been reading a ton of reviews about the Blue Lagoon Beach excursion and the "extra" costs to do just about everything. We are not doing the dolphin or sea lion part, as it's just not in our budget. However, the reviews say that hammocks, water slides, etc. are all an extra fee. Really...hammocks are extra?? If so, how much? Just wondering if anyone can shed some more light on doing this excursion, just for the beach...is it worth it? Also, I saw there are 2 return times, is the later time still enough to get you back to the ship? We booked through DCL. Thanks in advance...new to cruising...can ya tell, lol ;-)

We did Blue Lagoon last month and didn't spend and extra cent while we were there. I don't recall the price of the hammocks but there are plenty of nice lounge chairs with or without shade available for free. The lunch included on the beach excursion was good; burgers and hot dogs. You can buy extra food (someone said the fish is great and so are the conch fritters). Beach excursion also comes with two nonalcoholic drinks per person. They do have a bar where you can buy drinks if you choose. Overall we really enjoyed it. Our kids did want to do the inflatable water park but that was $15 per person and they were just as happy playing on the beach. I would highly recommend The excursion. Even without the additional charges it was still a great day.

Thank you for the info! I'm glad that you had a good experience without breaking the bank. Another question, do you they take cash and/or credit? Thanks again:)

We did Blue Lagoon last June and found a beautiful beach that we had almost completely to ourselves! If you go up and over the little rise behind the restaurant you'll find it. There were some tables and lounge chairs and a very bored lifeguard there. We spent most of the day at this beach following the dolphin excursion in the morning. We took the last boat back and didn't experience any problems.

We have this booked for our cruise next week.
Does anyone know if they rent beach umbrella's?

Thanks.
