Hiya this will be my first trip to DLP since I was 11 I am now a 31 year old married lady with a 18 month old daughter :) we usually go to WDW every year but thought we should try closer to home. My husband has never been to DLP.

We are going January 2015 and it will be my birthday I was wondering which out the two is better for a birthday celebration. Blue Lagoon or Walts or if you think there is anywhere better let me know.

Also if there is any must do info for our wee family I would appreciate your tips/suggestions. We are staying at Sequoia Lodge 4 nights (GF rooms) and Newport bay 4 nights. We have the half board plus plan.

Thanks in advance :)

Have a look at the menus on dlp guide.com to give you an idea. The lagoon side tables are lovely in Blue Lagoon and it's a lovely atmosphere if you like the food. Walts is more formal, but really nicely presented. With 8 nights on dining plan I would definitely try both during your trip. Inventions character buffet is supposed to be great, but you would need to use your vouchers at face value and pay the difference. Happy planning :yay:

I'd pick Walt's as it's my favourite but do also love Blue Lagoon and my DD has just come back from a trip raving about the barracuda she ate there. I agree with micksn that with 8 nights you'll get chance to go to both.

Lucky you - I've always loved our longer trips to DLP and what a lot of changes you'll see after 20 years! :goodvibes

Check menus for sure. The restaurants have VERY limited menus for half board. My son and I weren't too impressed with Blue Lagoon. And it was all stupid overpriced for the quality, even with half board, you are paying for it. Even taking into account it was Disney.

I would recommend trying both if you are there for 8 nights! We are there for 7 and are doing both with a 3 year old. I have never eaten in either and although the menu in Blue Lagoon doesn't appeal too much (we have premium and I am just using it at face value here as I don't like the set menu). Does anyone know how easy it would be to get a waterside table?

We are eating from the premium menu at Walts, I just hope the service isn't over long as it is hard to keep a 3 year old entertained!

if you go during a less busier time you'll get a table by the water no problem. We ate there in May at 6:30pm and it was very quiet.

I'd recommend both BL and Waltz too!

Thanks for all your replies :) we will be going to both and I've decided the restaurant we will eat at on the day of my birthday will be Walts :) hopefully get a window seat x

As we will be there for 8 days is there any other restaurants u recommend?

We have decided so far on the following

Manhattan
Walts
Blue lagoon

Thanks again x
