I think my VDH points will be mainly saved and used for that resort since my resale contracts can’t be used there anyway. If we do WDW instead of DLR that vacation, I will likely want them for fall and winter races. My only concern is if we end up wanting them for more summer vacations in California than winter in future years, but currently we go to DLR in both seasons. As long as you sign in before March 1 yes you will get it.
So to 2 use years the biggest issue with them is you can’t use them together so if you think you’ll ever need to pool your points together one use year is better.
If you know that they will always be used for two separate vacations. 2nd use year can be beneficial. You should choose your use year based on when you travel, you don’t want to have to cancel a trip and not be able to bank those points.
Can’t predict future to let that sway your decision. If more benefits overall with September. Stick with it.My only concern is if we end up wanting them for more summer vacations in California than winter in future years
@Makai this. You need to sign I think at bare minimum 4 days before the end of the UY to sell them. Play it safe and do at LEAST a week in advance of the UY.I think as long as you purchase a week or so before March 1st, then you can use MB for 2025 points.
I think they just have to be informed to include it in the contract 4 days in advance I dont think signing has to happen. But there's still plenty of time left right now@Makai this. Oh no im so sorry to hear about all of the issues. We have stayed at vdh twice now and I can say with confidence that the rooms are in great condition (I know theyre newWe overall had a great vacation at the Disneyland Hotel for the Dumbo Dare race, with only some minor problems. Staying in the Fantasy Tower there are maintenance issues that need to be addressed (paint chipped all over the elevators and baseboards, etc), and a feeling of staff shortages at the pool for drinks and food. Our pillow had a huge stain on the entire back of it, and other housekeeping issues in the room with bad odor. They did try to fix the housekeeping issues, but we could also hear the elevator make a screeching sound all day and night in our room as it went up and down. We should have switched to a new room they had offered in a different tower, but by this time we were all moved in and unpacked for race weekend without wasting more time to deal with a room change.
They only offered Lightning Lanes as a gift to tour the villas to my sister who is not a member, vs the $200 gift card I received to tour the Poly last year staying onsite. Since we already had purchased the MultiPass with our tickets, she declined to take the gift offer and will save her first tour for WDW. I was given a tour of the 1 & 2 bedroom villas, and deluxe studio. Gorgeous!
We had lunch at Palm Breeze and the food was great. One host was very unprofessional at check in for lunch, but otherwise the other staff were nice. We had modified our lunch time in person, but they could not find our reservation and had changed the time to the wrong person, or just deleted us off all together. The lady at check in was very rude and dismissive of us, with no plans to help us. Once we found the cast member who had made the modification, they were able to reinstate us, but if he hadn’t shown up to confirm he had been the one to make the change, she would not have believed us. Loved the food and drinks at Palm Breeze, and did a walk up reservation for Trader Sam’s at breakfast time!
The Coffee House had insane lines, and mobile order times were very late on race weekend, so Trader Sam’s for the win!
Not enough problems throughout our stay to give me cold feet on this purchase, but it did hurt to pay $45 a night parking fees, along with parking transient taxes, with all those reported issues in our room, especially since I am purchasing my first direct contract at VDH. Happy we will be in the new Discovery Tower next time though!
Palm Breeze blew me away. My wife asked for strawberries in her lemonade and they didnt have any so the bartender actually left the bar and found strawberries at a different restaurant and cut them up for her to put in her drink and found us and gave us free drinks with strawberries. They sold a contract right thereEverything from parking onward will be so much better next time! Won’t be doing any more reservations at Palm Breeze. Just walk up to the bar, giving a wink to that other cast member as you stroll on by, pointing at your DVC lapel pin. (Actually anyone can do that..no reservation needed, but feels cool when own there).
