Tell me about the Blue Bayou, Would you recommend this restaurant for 2 adults? Any tips or suggestions?

Or is there another restaurant that would be worth trying out?

this is a very popular restaurant with a lot of people. it's a little on the expensive side, but your paying for the atmosphere more then the food. you can check out their menu and prices at allearsnet.com. I would suggest trying it once.

Another restaurant worth trying is the Wine Country Trattoria inside DCA.

I agree, It is very pricey I think its the best food in the park restaurant wise its kinda nice to relax there after a day at the park ....Make reservations if you want to try it out. if you want to get a good seat ask for table by the river they usually will give it to you might be an extra 10 15 min or so

I agree as well. BB is good, and expensive. I personally enjoy the cajun tri-tip, yummy!!!!;)

HTH!

Not in the park but if you want to take the monorail to the DisneyLand hotel and eat at Steakhouse55. I really like that. I just ate there last Sunday night. The food was very good. But typical of places like Morton's, Ruth Chris's Steakhouse, etc... They had fun drinks too..

We also ate at Blue Bayou on Friday night. I thought it was okay. The environment is very cool though...

I love the BB! Not just the food (which I do love) but the whole atmosphere and experience is just amazing!! I love it there. We are APers and make frequent visits so don't do BB everytime but if I was not an APer then I would definitely do it every single time. :)

Does anyone know where I can find a lunch menu for BB? I can only find a dinner one at Allears.net!

Catels in DTD has great food and the chocolate bread pudding for dessert ( you have to order it with your meal) is to die for. BB is good to :cool1: but myself I prefer Catels sitting on the top floor balconey looking down at people:cool1:

My favorite restaurant in the whole world. The jamabalya is outstanding and the prime rib melts in your mouth. Also the atmosphere with the fireflys and POTC boats going by is so neat. You really feel like you are sitting outside on bayou.

Highly recommended! Ever since we ate there the first time, we've eaten there every time since. We always go during lunch. It's cheaper, and the Monte Cristo sandwich isn't on the dinner menu. The jambalaya is also really good. You can't beat the atmosphere, there's literally nothing else like it in the world. :thumbsup2

Hmmm, never seen Cajun Tri-Tip, if I had I would be all over that! YUM!! I have had the Prime Rib.....very good. :)

From the link, that I had posted in my initial reply, I figured, go ahead and show the menu as well.

On my last, however, hopefully not my final, visit to Disneyland, when I dined at the Blue Bayou, our server, Diana, was most excellent, for she was very nice and polite and friendly, made it a point to let you know that you can take your time, and she was very helpful as well when it came to my trying to make up my mind, as to what to order. I liked her very much, I do not know if she is currently working there, for this was last April, however if she is, hopefully one will be as fortunate to have her, as their server,as I had been.

I wonder if the Blue Bayou Restaurant delivers ;) for I am reading their menu again, and my god, how the Buccaneer's Beef Short Ribs, is making my mouth water! it is almost painful! but in a very good way!

Those short ribs are great. On our last visit, I had the key lime pie and hate to say I was disappointed in it. It really tasted like a Jello box mix pie.

Oh my! that is so not good! I would have inquired about it. and if I really did not like the dessert, either I would have asked for another, or politely state that I am not planning on paying for that dessert, for it was really quite terrible, I am sorry. Then I would state the reason for it tasting just awful!

At a restaurant in San Francisco, that I normally like very much to dine at, my meal was just hideous. I said something about it, and I was asked if I
wanted something else, I was trying to be polite, so I declined, besides, I had eaten just enough bread, while awaiting upon my most salty dish (unbeknowest to me at the time) so I was not really all that hungry anymore to say the least. Then the waiter, slides, does not ask me first, the dessert menu right before me, then states that maybe this will take care of that taste, so I am thinking oh, free dessert, for again, I was not asked if I was interested, so therefore, took his actions and words as meaning a complimentary dessert, well I get the bill, and no, I am charged for everything,so I commented to the manager, the reasons why I did not expect to pay for the dessert, I of course told him as well, how much I like this restaurant, and make it a point, often to dine there, when I am in the city. In addition to that, I also commented upon how how rather tricky it was of the waiter to do that, and why, and by the time I had stated my case in full, which did not take that long, the manager said that he would take care of the bill, I was really quite shocked, for I told him, that I was not attempting to not have to pay for my meal, just the dessert, but he stated how important it is for him to have satisfied guests, and that he hopes to see me again. That was so nice! my god! I do continue to dine there, so far, so good. :)

Gisele where was that? I've eaten at many good restaurants in the City but have so many more to try! :)

I would have said something about the dessert as well, sorry it was not up to par. I recommend the cookie boat....soooooooooo good!!!!!! :)

I don't think the pie had anything wrong, per se..just that it is always not so good :)
Next time..creme brulee!
