Have you eaten at Blue bayou and split food? How are the portions? I think I'd really like to experience this place but dont want to spend that much on 2 meals. I already am aware of the 4.99 split fee but that seems cheaper than 2 meals anyways, as long as the portions are good enough. I am think of lunch or dinner, whichever is the better deal! Thanks

Well, if you did that and added an appetizer or dessert too, I think you'd be good. The portions are a bit much for one person (unless you're really hungry) but not quite enough for 2 people.

how about saving the extra plate charge (this is news to me tho) by you getting a soup or appetizer and your husband ordering the meal. I never mind picking off my hubby's plate a little to share and you could have them bring all the food together....just a thought.

Don't they just split the "main dish" and each person gets their own salad and side?

I was thinking of doing this with DH. I definitely want to get dessert, so I figured if we split our main dish and got dessert, that would be more than enough since each person gets their own side. I don't want to walk around the park stuffed to the gills.:goodvibes

We did the split plate last summer (on the Monte Cristo). They actually did the split for us in the kitchen. Each of us had one half of the sandwich, and we each got a large portion of the salad and chips, too. It was just the right amount of food. I've never been able to finish a whole one of those, and I'm usually a pretty hearty eater!

Awesome! Thanks everyone! I made the PS for Lunch the day after we arrive...I'm def looking fwd to it!

I've done the same thing with my daughter. I think we split the jambalaya and then had dessert. It was still more than plenty for us.

I split with my son, we got with the samone mashed potatoes, each a cup of gumbo and I think a veggie, my mind can remember like I used to when I was younger. It was enough for us and he is a big eater but with all the snaking throughout the park it was perfect :yay:
