Blue Bayou Split Fee?

I'm not a big eater so DH and I usually split entrees. Last time we dined at Blue Bayou they had a $12 (I believe) split fee. However, that was back when they included a starter in the meal, so I'm wondering if it's the same fee? Can anyone who has split something recently recall the fee?

Can't answer you question really but you can ask for just an extra plate for free and just "take" some of his meal for yourself. The split fee only applies if they do it in the kitchen giving you your own sides and half the entree.

Don't you get a little plate for bread? You could always use that if they put up a stink about getting an extra plate.

They don't care if you get an extra plate. There is a difference between sharing (extra plate and you divide; free) and splitting (kitchen splits it for you and you get your own extras; extra fee).

Thanks all! I'm planning to get a salad too, and DH will also get a starter. We will just ask for another plate for the entree. We will tip accordingly -- I know the servers have to work just as hard for our table, even if there is one less entree!
