I'm curious about seating at Blue Bayou. How is the restaurant set up? Is all the seating inside the ride? If we don't have waterside seating, can we still see the boats passing? Thank you!

All of the seating is inside of the ride, but there aren't a ton of water side tables. If you want to be able to see the water and boats clearly, I suggest making an 'off' dining time, such as a 430pm dinner. Arrive a good 20 minutes early and request the water side table. Worked for us perfectly and we ended up going in right around our reservation time :)

Yes all of the seating is in the ride.

Like the OP has said get there early and request a waterside table for the best viewing of the boats.

Enjoy.....we love BB!!

We had an early lunch at the Blue Bayou during Spring Break last year. We made reservations for the first possible lunch time -- I believe it was 11:30am -- and arrived 20 minutes early. At that point we requested a waterside table, and got one with no difficulty. It was also really nice to be there before the restaurant filled up. It was nice and relaxing and so wonderful to sit waterside. I would imagine doing the same for a dinner seating would work the same way. It's one of our favourite memories! Good luck!

As others have said, all of the tables are located inside the building, but only the ones immediately by the waterside and maybe one row in will have a view of the boats as the float by. You can request a water side table when you check-in. The CM will probably tell you it will add to the wait (usually up to 45 minutes) and it's well worth it. It usually doesn't take 45-minutes unless you an ADR just after the first seating for lunch or dinner. For example, they usually seat all of the guests with an 11:30 am (opening time) ADR by the waterside table. So guests with an 11:45 am or noon ADR will have to wait for the first wave of guests to finish before a waterside table will open up. So try to get an ADR for the first seating (lunch or dinner) and you stand the best chance of getting a waterside table with minimal wait.

We had lunch in BB this week. This time, we didn't want to give up too much ride time waiting so we took the first available seat when we checked in. It was in the middle, 4 rows from the water's edge. I'm short and didn't see/hear anyone in a boat passing unless they made noise. But I could see the cabins and the fireflies across the water and hear the chirping crickets. It made for an effect that I was on a patio on a bayou at night, without the boats passing reminding me I was in POTC. Seemed more peaceful this time around. But if a water's edge seat had been available, I wouldn't have minded that, either. The meal was well prepared and delicious for both of us.
