no Blue Bayou restaurant? it's so iconic at Disneyland, when you're on the Pirates ride.....to 'float' on by....was looking forward to finally eating there. Oh, well, on to other restaurants. Thanks for the update.

We really liked Blue Bayou at DLR and dining inside the POTC ride. Unfortunately there's not really anything comparable at WDW. The only restaurants "inside" an attraction are San Angel Inn in the Mexico pyramid at Epcot, where the boats on the ride float by after loading, Garden Grill in the Land pavilion at Epcot, where you have a glimpse of the boats in Living with the Land sailing by if your table has rotated into the proper position, and Pinocchio's in Fantasyland at the MK, where if you are lucky you can snag a table that overlooks the Small World loading area.
The iconic restaurant at DW is in the castle. Many people go to Cinderella's Royal Table to see the princesses, enjoy the atmosphere and because it's an opportunity to eat in the castle.
The newest restaurant is Be Our Guest in the Beast's Castle. It's counter service at lunch (no reservations) and table service at dinner (very very hard to get a res). It's interior has beautiful detailing and the food is pretty good.
You'll find many restaurants at DW from the outstanding 5 star Victoria & Albert's to excellent signatures to entertaining places like Biergarten and many more character meals than at DLR to countless counter services and kiosks.
Because there are so many restaurants in DW have fun with your research.
You can make reservations for Disneyland table service restaurants at 60 days out. There is a DL board attached to this site. Definitely, ask over there--they are very helpful. You can even email a CM with your choices.
Thanks for comments and suggestions. Will have to choose another restaurant for dinner in MK to take a break in the evening....gonna do 'Be Our Guest' for lunch....so looking for another restaurant (will not have little kids with us, so don't need to worry about kid friendly restaurant)....any other suggestions?
...thinking of maybe taking a break from the park, catch the monorail to Poly and eat at Kona Cafe.....any comments?

Definitely exit the park and go to one of the monorail resort restaurants. The in-park dining options in the Magic Kingdom are not the same kind of variety and quality they are in Disneyland. I think the Kona Café is decent for a casual place. It has no ambiance to speak of, but I do enjoy the sushi, the pineapple bread and some of the appetizers.
A couple of suggestions, if you don't mind Signature restaurants, would be either Narcoossee's in the Grand Floridian Resort or California Grill in the Contemporary Resort however depending on when you are going on your trip, it may still be closed because of an extensive refurb. Both of these restaurants have excellent food, wonderful atmosphere, and if you can time your ADR right, you could watch Wishes from the restaurant.
