Blue Bayou potatoes?

And while I'm asking questions about Blue Bayou... what is a "cajun-inspired wedge salad"?
What would happen if you made a PS with the intention of only having dessert?

They are garlic scalloped potatoes. I'm sure someone else will have a better description. They are VERY VERY good!

No problem on dessert only. Many do the same thing.

They are like scalloped potatoes but I think they use a white cheese, ive had them twice and both times my potatoes were a little crunchy...I still ate them! the cheese sauce was delicious!

FYI, they dont have the wedge salad anymore, and alot of people are disappointed in this! lol

They also no longer serve the signature Cookie Boat or Creme Trio desserts - the desserts are more generic now, another thing that disappoints MANY people, including myself. With that in mind, I'm not sure I'd still want to go for dessert only.

Okay, the cookie boat was fantastic and I am in hopes of it returning, but...

I don't think eating at the Blue Bayou is really about the food. At all. It's about the atmosphere. You are eating INSIDE Pirates of the Caribbean in an incredibly themed, extremely unique restaurant that exists nowhere else on Earth. Does it really matter what youre eating?

JMO.

If you can, go to the Blue Bayou. Sit. Relax. Take it all in. (Even the fireflies!) It's a special place.

Do they still sure the creme? Last summer we got just the vanilla flavor... do they still serve that? Can anyone post a link to an updated menu? Thanks!

Thanks y'all! The potatoes and desserts sound yummy! I was hoping for a beautiful romantic-ish restaurant to celebrate our 25th anniversary. While we're not the kind of people to want violins, harps or piano playing in the background and a snooty waiter with a towel over his arm serving us champagne (we don't drink alcohol), I thought the fireflies in BB would be the perfect touch. And being in Disneyland park means no pressure to buy wine with our meal (I hate when servers do that!) Looks like I'll be making a PS as soon as I can!

The recipe:

Potatoes (baking) 3 lbs, peeled and thin sliced
Onion, thin sliced

Cream Sauce for the Potatoes

Manufacturing Cream (Heavy Cream) 2 cups
Whole Thyme (dry) 1/4 tsp.
Fresh Garlic (chopped) 2 tbs.
Salt 1-1/4 tsp.
Pepper 1-1/4 tsp
Butter 1 tbs.
Parmesan Cheese (grated) 4 oz*

Mix onions and potatoes and put into baking dish. Mix cream, garlic, salt, pepper, and thyme leaves. Pour mixture over potatoes and onions and cover. Put in a pre-heated 350F degree oven, and bake for about one hour. When potatoes are tender, remove from oven and sprinkle with parmesan cheese. Put back in the oven uncovered and bake for ten minutes more until brown.

*I've found that it's best to use either freshly grated Parmesan, or the pre-grated that's kept in the refrigerated section of the grocery store with the other shredded cheeses. The kind that's sold in a shaker can doesn't work (or taste) as well...
