Blue Bayou- monte cristos at dinner?

I think I remember reading that the monte cristos are only available at lunch. Is this true?

Yep, it's true. You can get the MC sandwich at Cafe Orleans for dinner, though.

Well that stinks. I wanted to go for dinner and have never been, so I thought I'd give it a shot while trying one of the famous monte cristos that everyone here talks about so much. Oh, well. I'll find a plan B. Thanks for the fast replies!

Ashlotte, the price at BB is cheaper at lunch anyway. Cafe Orleans has the same Monte Cristo for even less and it has some yummy gumbo. You can still do BB for dinner but make reservations so you can sit water side!

Ok I just have to share ,

We just got back on Sunday from a 10 day trip to DL and we made reservations at the Blue Bayou for lunch just to try the Monte Crisco sandwhich because everyone here made it sound like something we just couldn't mis .

Normally I would agree with you all on most subjects here and for the most part all of the advice I got here made our trip that much better but that sandwhich just did not agree with us .

We ordered 2 sandwhiches and split it 4 ways, for me, my mom and my two girls . The salad and the gumbo was fabulous but we only took one bite of the sandwhich and none of us could eat anymore of it , it was so bad that we had to tell our waitress we just couldn't eat it, she was so nice she talked to the manager and they took both sandwhiches off our bill .

I was so upset because just that one bite made our stomaches so upset we couldn't eat another thing and I so wanted to order one of the desserts they offer .

I have to say though, that I have eaten at Blue Bayou before and have loved everything else I have tried up until this. Maybe it was just a bad day for the sandwhich , maybe the chef that prepared ours just didn't do it right but we just didn't like that sandwhich . The gumbo however was to die for .
