Hey Everyone,
Stupid question. This is our 2nd trip to Disneyland (newly west coasters) and we have a dining reservation at Blue Bayou for this saturday night(yay!). I was wondering if you can order the Monte Cristo at dinner? Its on the lunch menu, but not dinner. It is served at the quick serve all day. Has anyone ordered it at Dinner? Thanks!

Clint

Sorry, just at lunch. Cafe Orleans serves it all day, but is not a quick service but rather a sit-down restaurant.

Cafe Orleans has the same ham/turkey/cheese version as Blue Bayou, and they also have a 3-cheese version (vegetarian) which I find tasty, and lighter than the meat version. Both are served all day.

Blue Bayou does shut down the fryer as part of the changeover from lunch to dinner, so the Monte Cristo is not available at Blue Bayou after 4:00 pm.

CO and BB share the same kitchen.

Personally, I find the cheese version to be heavy and greasy, so I stick with the traditional meat version.

Thanks! Guess I need to swing by Cafe Orleans for lunch!

If you don't have a PS for CO go at an off time so you can be seated. We've been turned away because we didn't have a reservation. Not often but it does happen.
I wish BB had the MC for dinner.....but then again, maybe I don't, I'd much rather eat at BB during the middle of the day. :)

We saw a number of people being turned away while were there in August. I am a person who believes that it is better to have a reservation than not.

It's better to be safe than sorry. We always make reservations for BB well ahead of time - 60 days or so out - even if we can't make it we have the option to cancel where as the other way around we would have to risk availability.

Blue Bayou and Cafe Orleans each have their own kitchen, and the sandwiches are battered and fried at the location. They both are supported by the NOS Main prep kitchen, but the sandwiches are actually cooked at the restaurant's own kitchen.

It's happened to us as well, that's why I fully support having a reservation as well. DBF is more of a wait and see kind of guy so unless he wants to eat at BB he doesn't want a reservation. We've been able to walk up and be seated within 5 minutes at CO (NEVER at BB) and we've been told they are full and can't take walk-ins. I know a number of DISers who say you don't have to have a reservation at CO but IME it's better. :) That's why I always mention that you may be turned away without one. :)

Basically Jack, I agree with you 100% regarding a reservation. :)
