Blue Bayou menu

I figure it will take a bit of time for the new menu to show up on line, since it debuted just today. The new menu sounds very tasty, especially regarding the mashed potatoes. I had always hoped dining wise that it would finally be offered, and now it will be. I prefer that with beef entrées instead of the cheesy potatoes, as much as I do like that as well.

I totally agree. Their menu was in need of a makeover to get rid of some of the grease. I really want to know if they add some type of surf and turf to lunch.

It's possible that a dish like that has been added to the lunch menu, however, I highly doubt it. It would be nice though, for I love their surf and turf. And just in case anyone is wondering, it is possible to order a second lobster tail, you will be charged a split plate fee of $12.00.

The Surf and Turf entrée will continue to be offered only for dinner. And that will continue to be offered with the potatoes Au gratin, but most likely will be able to switch that out for the Boursin Cheese Mashed Potatoes.
The Tesoro Island Chicken entrée will come with Boursin Cheese Mashed potatoes , but you can probably substitute for the potatoes Au gratin.
The pricing has been increased on some of the dishes, but not by a significant amount.

May 09th 2013, is when Disneyland will begin their new dining policy, where a credit or debit card will be required to hold your reservation. It will not be charged, unless one is a no show and did not cancel accordingly. The charge will be $10.00. This new change is taking place so as to discourage multi-reservations, then subsequent no shows. This way others may be accommodated that will actually arrive for their seating.

Thank you.
Bummer about S&T not being for lunch. We make lunch our big meal of the day when we are on vacation.
The new policy doesn't bother me. We plan other activities around meals. Too much planning involved with DD10's food allergies to flake on a chef. :)

Here are pictures of the new menus posted on twitter by Touring Plans.

Do they not offer the Monte Cristo at dinner? I've never been there; is that new?

It is not on the dinner menu, but once my DD12 ordered it at dinner time and they brought it to her no problem.

Any change with the desert menu? Still dreaming of the cookie boat for my son's 5th birthday at Disneyland:)

One review I read said that they had creme brulee, chocolate cake and something else I don't remember. No ice cream and no cookie boat.

I had to make reservations for Cafe Orleans because I knew that BB didn't have the Monte Cristo sandwich during dinner (I really want to try the "famous" monte cristo sandwich). I think the only time you can get it at BB is during lunch (unless that has changed). DH really wanted to go for dinner because he wants to get the surf and turf.

Like I said. We have gotten it at dinner time even though it is not on the menu.

And I was refused.
I asked when I was there a month ago and was told it was Lunch only. Maybe your dinner time was close enough to lunch that they had some left over?

We do always have an early dinner. I think it was around 4:30. It was about a year ago. We didn't ask. When the waiter was taking our order my DD12 just ordered it. The waiter didn't say anything, just took the order and brought what she asked for.

Nice. We are planning on dining here (with reservations) during our trip. Didn't even realize they were updating th emenu.

To the best of my knowledge there is no change for the dessert menu. And the menu currently offers: Creme Brulee -- Vanilla bean custard, Chocolate Cake, Ice Cream and also Pecan Pie.

As far as I know the wonderful desserts that the Blue Bayou once offered, will not be returning any time soon (Most unfortunately)

I read that they took ice cream off the menu. I'll know for sure soon. Our next meal there is only 17 days away. :)

I think they serve the cheesy mashed potatoes elsewhere on property, don't they? I know I had them somewhere last week (before this menu came out)... maybe Ariel's at lunch time? With the Tri-Tip?

Does anyone know if the cheesy mashed potatoes have pepper or spices in them or are they just mashed potatoes and cheese? I'm wondering if DD can have and would like them.
