Can anyone tell me if BLT has wheelchair accessible 2-bedroom dedicated villas with Theme Park Views? Thanks.

Can anyone tell me if BLT has wheelchair accessible Deluxe Studio and/or 1-Bedroom Villas with Theme Park Views? Thanks.

The BLT studio is the smallest studio of all the villas. Even if it is handicap accessible, it may be hard to move around. Like transferring to the bed if you have to transfer. With the sleeper sofa opened up, there is very little room between the bed and the sleeper sofa. A one bedroom may give you more space.

Thank you very much. Do you know if they have 1 bedroom villas with Theme Park Views? Are wheelchair accessible villas at BLT hard to come by or are they plentiful? We've never stayed there before.

I know I have seen that there are accessible villas that are on the North end of the building- I don't know if they are about the first lakeview or the last of the theme park view but their is a BLT views thread that includes info on the rooms that are accessible. I have been in a standard view accessible studio that was under theme park view rooms- it had handrails rather than a roll in shower but the kitchen was set up so it could have been rolled into.

Do you need a roll in shower? I think most if not all of those type of accessible rooms are in the lakeview category. However every report of them has been on the northside of the building and they have had off center views of the theme park. The studio layout for the accessible rooms is a little different in that it has both a tub and a roll in shower.

We've stayed in other DVC HA rooms although not at BLT so I've only been getting info from other reports.

Yes we would need a roll in shower with shower seat. I would love to have a Theme Park view if it's available. We've only stayed at a DVC property once two years ago. We stayed at BWV and it worked out well. We'd like to stay at BLT this time around. We've seen it in person but it looks beautiful online. We just don't know much about it is the problem.

BLT Studio 7714 is HA.

It is a Lake View, but has a great view of the MK. DW and I watched the MNSSHP fireworks from the balcony with the TV tuned in to the music. Very nice.

BLT does not have any standard rooms as HA rooms, the best thing to do is call MS and ask about the 1 or 2 bedroom. We use a studio with a roll in shower. If you in a chair you will not be able to use a studio room. The turn into the bathroom is not easy to manage in a standard size wheel chair. I don't know about the 1 or 2 bedroom. Maybe Sue will know, she is a mod in the DISabilities forum (accessibility area for DIS). I don't know how much competition there are for these rooms. Disney does call us each year and asks if we "really" need the HA room. That leads me to believe they do not have as many as they need.

Rockdoctor - Thank you very much. Sorry but what does MS stand for? I will definitely check out the Disabilities forum. Thanks again.

when a friend wanted a HC studio was told by MS (member service) - they did have them???

but very limited maybe only 2 (could be wrong)

you need to call the special service.

now a complete HC studio with roll in shower - that don't know.

Thanks Pat. We decided to go with the 2 bedroom villa instead. Now I need to know if they have a completely HA 2 bedroom villa with MK views.

I asked MS about exactly how many HA one bedrooms they have at BLT. There are only two Florida Special standard view rooms (not really for wheel chairs ... No roll in shower just grab bars in bathroom and lower toilets) and only two HA one bedrooms with a lake view. I am not sure how many theme park view HA rooms there are but I am guessing not many.

If you email ms you can request the exact number and location of the two bedrooms as I did for the one bedrooms. It is a small resort so the number of HA rooms are very few.
I sent an email response back to MS asking exactly how many two bedroom HA rooms they have at BLT ... It usually took a day or two to get a reply but I will let you know.

Oh great. Thank you so much. I'm not a member - we rent points - so I don't believe I have access to MS correct? Would they be able to let you know if there are any HA 2 bedroom villas with MK views and where they may be located? Seems like the best MK views are on the North side in the center. Is that true?

I will ask ... Personally I like emailing Disney and getting things in writing instead of over the phone but it does take a little longer.
