BLT waitlist

We're on the waitlist for BLT 1 BR LV Sept 19-26. How do you think my chances are that the waitlist will come through? Thanks

I hope your chances are excellent as we are on the waitlist for the same time!! We are waitlisted for a 2 bedroom lake view and a standard studio, so we won't affect your waitlist. I did read that some units had been declared recently at BLT, and that could help with the waitlist situation.

BLT is hard to get because only half of the resort is available for DVC use.

I was on a waitlist for BLT one bedroom for this month---got put on the waitlist in Feb. Never came through. One cast member told me they were booked the weekend we were there (May 1-3).

Last BLT declaration was March 30, 2010
73.66% is now declared.
BLT sales have been pretty strong the last couple months (after they reduced AKV incentives).
It will likely be at least a few months before there is another BLT declaration, as many of the units declared at the end of March have not seen any contracts appear yet. (56B, 56C, 57B, 58B, 59A, 59B, 59C, 60A, 60B, 61A, 61B, 62A, 62B, 63A, 63B, 63C, 64A, and 64B have not had any contracts as of 5/12/2010)

We are new DVC owners- bought while onboard Disney Wonder. Incentives were GREAT!!! BLT is our home resort.

I scheduled my first DVC stay for October 4 to October 9. I could only get SSR for my entire dates. But was put on the waitlist for BLT standard and LV studio.

How/when will I know if my waitlist came through?

Will I get an email?

Do I need to check my reservation with dvcmember.com?

Do I call?

I know I am waitlisted for Dec 18-26th I am angry at myself because I forgot to call one morning. I called one day to book it and they didn't have the second day so I WL it. Then I planned on calling at 7 months from the start of the third and forgot because of chaperoning a field trip and DS's bday and now I have to call again tomorrow since they don't have 19-21.

Do you think you are better off doing a shorter waitlist? The kids really want to stay BLT, me not so much. So I was thinking of just doing a split stay 18-22 at SSR or anywhere I can get really and then 22-26 at BLT and then waitlisting the first half. Do you think thats more likely to be available with a waitlist or do you think there is a chance for the whole thing and just wait it out.

Some people call regularly to see if their WL is available. There are numerous threads about the waitlist process. So far, I don't think anyone has figured out how Disney fills them.

We never expected our waitlist to come through (BCV during F&W...approximately same dates you are going), so we never bothered calling. Just happened to check dvcmember.com one day and started doing the happy dance.

They do send out the updated reservation information via snail mail. I think we received the updated mail about 3 weeks after we found out online.

I put us at BLT standard view and LV because 1. its our home resort and since this will be our first trip I would like to stay at our home resort but...

2. I thought BCV or BWV would be impossible to get.

So could I call and have one waitlist at BLT and one at BCV? or do you think my best bet is to stay with BLT?

The reservationist I spoke with the day I made the reservation suggested the BLT LV because there were more rooms available in that category.

Thanks! On the list is better than at the bottom of the list. I can always try for Beach Club another time.

You can make alterations to your waitlist twice regarding days or view without moving it to the bottom of the list. For example, I waitlisted at BLT for 12/1-12/7, and then called back to add 12/8 and then called back again the following day to add 12/9 to the waitlist. You can alter it twice without bumping it down.

If you decide to switch the resort completely....then you start from the bottom.

I would suggest keeping the BLT LV wiatlist but if you would prefer BCV - change the standard waitlist. The standard waitlist is unlikely to come through as only 10% of the rooms are standard, while 70% are lakeview.
