BLT vs WLV Transpo Qs

I'm thinking of buying re-sale at either BLT or WLV...we've already purchased points at BWV for our Food & Wine Festival visits.

I like the idea of being conveniently located near the MK, so no long bus rides after EMH, and quicker trips to monorail restaurants. I'm also thinking of my poor knees, and future visits having to rely on a scooter.

I really love the theming and decor of WLV, not too thrilled with the decor at BLT. However, when I finely "give in" to the scooter, it'd be much easier to get to the MK, and monorails to the other parks.

Can anyone tell me...if we went WLV, does their boat stop at the other resorts, or just go to TTC and MK? Also, are the boats "scooter friendly".

If we did go with BLT, would it be easier to trade points for WLV when we get the urge for more rustic surroundings, than visa-versa?

Thanks for your opinions!

we own at WLV and added on BLT which we are staying at right now. i have heard that WLV has less rooms and is harder to book at the 7 month mark. also, the boat from WLV to MK is pretty small and may be a challenge with a scooter. there are two boats from WL which go to MK or the nearby resorts such as contemporary. the walkway from BLT to MK is very easy and would be fast on a a scooter. the ride over to the monorail is also very easy when you go over the walkway that connects BLT with the contemporary.

Thank you for the response. I'm not scooter-dependent yet, though I see it in my near future. We also enjoy most of the monorail restaurants...Ohanas, Kona Cafe, GF Cafe, etc, so I can see how BLT would be really convenient. How is the walk to MK, is it comparable to the walk from BCV to EPCOT?

Yes, the walk is about 5 - 10 minutes, depending on your speed! Very easy.

They do have boats that go from VWL to MK that are built for the scooters. You may have to wait for it, but it is available. They also have a boat that goes between VWL, FW, and CR.

But, having just stayed at both, I think that BLT is far more convenient in terms of getting to a variety of places. And, if you buy in at BLT, and find you can't trade out to VWL at the times you want, you can always add on a small VWL contract for those times.

Once a member, Disney will sell you add ons with as little as 25 points (cash) or 50 points financed. Unless you really want VWL for December, I think you should be able to get rooms at VWL if you call right at the 7 month window.

Good luck!

The larger boats that go from VWL to the MK, sometimes go to FW first and sometimes they go to MK first. They are stroller friendly, you just roll on, and so I guess they are scooter friendly as well.

There is also now bus service between VWL and the MK. As far as I know, most, if not all,the buses are scooter friendly. :moped:

Just a word of caution with VWL. My DH uses a scooter at Disney and in December we went to use the boats to go from VWL to CR and were told sorry, but that they didn't have any of the scooter accessible boats running at the time. We had to double back and wait for a bus. We were very disappointed as this was the first time in seven years since DH started using a scooter at WDW that we could not be accommodated.

Thanks for the heads up...that dosen't sound very accomodating at all! :sad2: BTW, love your Food & Wine Festival banner!! LOL

Thank you everyone for your comments. I'm thinking for convenience sake, BLT will probably be for us, and our little 75 point contract at BWV will be perfect for our F & W Festival weekends.
