BLT vs VWL

Hi there - I am making my first visit to Disney with my husband and 6 year old son in May for 5 days. We are planning to do DTD on arrival day, then HS, MK, fishing and other resort fun, with our last day spent going back to our favorite park or to Epcot. Which resort would you choose based on convenience and room/resort comforts?

Convenience wise, I guess BLT since you can walk to Magic Kingdom. Theme and Amenity wise, no contest - VWL.

I would also go with Bay Lake Tower because of the convenience to the Magic Kingdom, plus when going to Epcot all you take is the Resort Monorail from the Contemporary to the Transportation & Ticket Center, then you switch to the Epcot Monorail. So it's very easy doing that and I personally think it's better then taking a bus to Epcot which you will need to do if you stayed at VWL.

Totally agree. Sine you are not doing Epcot being on the monorail is not that important. The boat from VWL takes 7 min.

Also for resort activities you can go over to Fort Wilderness which has fantastic activities for little ones.

We just got back from a stay at BLT and while the location is fabulous it left me a little cold. Stepping into WL and that amazing lobby really does leave an impression.

BLT & VWL have totally different personalities.

We love CR/BLT and while we can appreciate the theming at VWL & the beauty of the resort, it's just not for us. I'm sure others feel the same way about BLT.

I think it really just depends on which one "speaks" to you.
