BLT vs THV

We're getting ready to book our trip for next year and we aren't sure which resort. My in-laws home resort is SSR and ours is BLT. We can make an 11 month ressie at either place in a couple of days and we're not sure which one. We need to have a 2 room villa and we thought staying at THV would be fun. We would also have an extra bedroom which would be nice. My big concern is transportation. The bus service at this point sounds alittle scary, but maybe that will change in the future. Staying at BLT is all about location, location, location. Our children will be 6,4 and 2, so jumping on the monarail at nap time with the 2 little ones will be easy for just 1 adult. I really wish both resorts were open so I can hear from people who have stayed there in the past. We've stayed at SSR before and it's my favorite resort. Never stayed to Contemp but we've eaten there before and it seems really nice. Any help anyone can give would be lovely.

In your scenario, I would probably go with BLT. With 2 small kids, taking them back from the park for a nap will be a pain if you are at THV and have to change buses at the Springs to get to your villa.

Just based on the children's ages and the popularity of MK for them, I would go with BLT.

Definitely BLT. With your little ones, staying on the monorail is the way to go. SSR is one of our faves, but if you can get BLT, that's even better.

Have you ever stayed on a monorail resort before? If not, it's difficult to explain how wonderful the convenience of the monorail is. We took our first non-monorail Disney vacation in March and we found that we had to build in an hour of travel time each way. Which was a huge pain, and since we are big nappers on vacation, that really affected us. And, don't get me started about how great it is to walk on the monorail and not have to fold the stroller - LOL. I'd just say if you had the choice and if both are equally available, go with BLT, especially with younger children.

BLT you can WALK back from the MK... right there, with kids your kids ages... I would book BLT

I'm going to vote for THV. Yes, back and forth will be more of a hassle. But, if you are uncertain, I think it will be easier for you to switch from THV to BLT should you change your mind once both resorts are open.

I agree with almost everyone: BLT is the way to go with little ones!
