I’m truly torn between buying my 1st DVC contract between these 2 resorts.
2 adults 2 kids
I usually like to stay in at least 1BR for laundry/space. I do some runDisney events where the kids stay home and the wife and I come. Common travel for now: January or April(race weekend), October, sporadic outside of that

Biggest pros:
BLT: MK close/Monorail/Top of World
CCV: WL feel/Rooms/Cabin possible splurge/wife has a forestry masters/

Biggest cons:
BLT: overall feel for me
CCV: no monorail/skyliner

Any thoughts?
Also, how hard is a BLT 1BR to book at 7month for marathon weekend? 2BR?

Of those two, I am a fan of BLT because of the ease to the parks, and access to Poly and Grand for expansion of resorts to visit for something to eat and drink.

Plus, the 1 bedrooms there sleep 5 and have a second bathroom.

I have not tried to book for any races so can’t help you there.

The extra bathrooms at BLT for me make a huge difference. You have 3 in a 2Br. 2Br will be easier to book at any resort, less demand.

We own at CCV and I really enjoy staying at BLT - that would be my next resort purchase if I was in the market. Don't get me wrong, we LOVE CCV/WL but the added convenience of location and monorail with BLT along with the 3 bathroom in a 2-br is epic with 2 kids!!

BLT was actually our first "post DVC purchase" and we loved it - we've booked it for our upcoming October stay too and I'm super excited!

Now I am hoping to add on a few more points in the next few years and when we do, we will just add on to my CCV contract - there is nothing that beats the boat ride to/from MK from WL....and that lobby.....the best!

Own at CCV. Love it. We are also 2 adults/2 kids. I think it depends on the age/size of your kids. Mine are still under 10. The pullout couch and bed combo are not an issue in a studio or a 1-br. The rooms are definitely some of the smallest. So, that would be my downside - room size/capacity of only 4 for 1-br.

We love the food options and things to do. We don't need pools to be fancy for everyone to enjoy them. Some people do want more from the resort pool. We just stayed at BCV and my kids were in love with Stormalong Bay. However, they are also happy in any pool since we do not have one at home.

We love the boat to MK. We have not had serious delays or issues with the buses, but I know all that can change with staffing and other unforeseen events. It would be nice to have a non-bus option.

I have not stayed at BLT yet, but I want to on one of the future stays. The extra bathroom in a 1-br seems like a super amazing thing. Walking to MK or taking the monorail to another resort is also very attractive.

I prefer the atmosphere at CCV, but I do think the rooms at BLT have more to offer in a 1-bedroom setup.

I wouldn't count on either at 7 months for a race weekend, but if you should ever want a studio race weekends, CCV has a real risk of being gone at 11 months. BLT you will get something.

This! CCV has been booked solid - including the cabins - though the end of race weekend. BLT has had scattered availability. Frankly if you are interested in December at all then you need to own at CCV.

We've owned at BLT for a while and love it there. We love the connection to The CR and the walk to the MK.

We stayed at CCV a couple years ago and it just wasn't for us. The boat is nice but the whole time I was standing on the dock waiting for it to come back, I was thinking, "if we were at BLT, we'd be at the MK already." I also felt like the rooms were smaller/more cramped, especially the bathrooms. When I opened the shower door, I felt like I had to jump over the toilet. Granted, this was in a studio with just my DH and I, but we've stayed in BLT studios plenty of times and have never felt so cramped, even though people say they are so small.

If CCV added a walkway to the MK, this might be a question, but for now, I think the scales easily tip in favor of BLT.

Well I'm 100% biased as we own multiple CCV contracts so obviously we love it. For us it's just the atmosphere of the WL that takes us away from the hustle and bustle of the parks. And don't get me started about how beautiful it is at Christmas - which you have almost zero shot of getting at 7 months (heck, it's hard at 11 months). BLT and the Contemporary give me 70's airport vibes, though I will agree that the extra bathroom in a 1 BR would be a big plus. We usually stay in 2 BR's so it's not a big deal for us. And of course it's always better to be able to walk to a park rather than take Disney transportation, but we do love that relaxing boat ride "home" to WL.

We also love the dining options at WL. Geyser Point is wonderful and as they don't take reservations there is no advance stalking of ADR's required. Just put your name on the walk up list and go grab a drink at Territory Lounge. We are usually called before we finish our drink. We've even had great success getting last minute Whispering Canyon reservations. It's just a nice feeling to know if we are tired and want to call it a day at the parks, we can always come back to WL and find a nice place to sit down and have dinner without planning anything ahead.

We are staying at BLT for the first time in September though, so who knows? Maybe it will win me over, and I'll recant everything I just said :goodvibes .
