BLT vs BWV

I am thinking of adding a short dvc stay in the summer. It will only be 3 nights before we move over to Hard Rock at Universal.
We are a family of 5. Kids 16,6,3. We are looking for a one bedroom. BLT and BWV both have availability. Not sure which to pick.
We will most likely only do one day in MK and 1 day in DHS. We aren’t huge park people. Probably hit parks at opening and leave around 1-2. The rest of the time we are in the pool or hanging around the resort.
We own at SSR and in the process of adding on at BWV. I am leaning towards BLT just because I know we will definitely be able to stay at BWV in the future.
However, I find the whole pool area and grounds at BLT very lacking. I prefer pools more like Poly,SSR and WL. The little kids love the kids splash areas at those pools.
We have a car so drive to whatever park we aren’t near.

Boulder Ridge is also a possibility if we flip Disney/Universal.

I think BLT does have a splash area.
I do think BLT’s pool lacks something, but you can go to the pools at the Contemporary, and I have heard they are nicer. Usually we just stay at BLT.

Boulder Ridge only had beds for 4 in the one bedroom.

Good to know about BR. I was thinking it was 5 if you had your own bedding like BC.
We have only been to BLT once, before we had the little kids. I am sure they will be happy wherever. We never made it to CR pool either so it couldn’t be too bad.

Well, yes, you can bring your own bedding at BR.

BLT 1BR is large and includes a second full bathroom. The pool is nice - nothing fancy but does have a water slide and a tiny slide into the main pool. The splash pad is just a flat area shaped like Mickey with the water jets. Nothing special. If the Contemporary pool is open it adds some variety and is an easy walk over. The size and layout of the room overrides any pool considerations for us - having the extra bathroom is a game changer! Obviously you have to choose based on your family's needs and style.

I would choose BLT with a family of five, so no one has to sleep on the floor. BLT has the king in the master, the queen size sleep sofa and a sleeper chair. Boardwalk and Boulder Ridge (not sure which one you’re considering) have just the king bed and fold out couch, so you have to bring a sleeping bag or cot and linens for the fifth person, unless 3 people are going to share one of the beds. You also have to provide towels, although now that there’s no,charge for extra towels that’s probably not an issue.

BWV only has one king bed and one queen sleeper sofa in the one bedroom. You can bring your own bedding to make a fifth bed. Same as BRV. BLT would work out better with the queen sleeper sofa and the twin sleeper chair. Plus the extra bathroom just off the entrance. You can keep the kids out of the master bathroom. If you get lake view, request an even number villa to get the larger living room and kitchen. You'll be outside the curve of the building rather than inside looking at the pool.

In terms of accommodations themselves, BLT is going to be your better option with the second bathroom and the bedding situation. But if you are not big park people, BLT is kind of limited in its environment. The Boardwalk is a great area to be in. There are lots of great options for food/lounges. As long time BWV owners, any time I don’t stay at BCV or BWV, I feel like I’m missing something out on something. BLT doesn’t have the same ambience, in my opinion.

I didn't care for BLT when we stayed there last year. I have no inclination to go back.

That said...while the pool at BLT was underwhelming, we found the pool situation at the Contemporary to be pretty darn nice. The main pool itself was solid. The water slide was really fast. More importantly, I refer to the "pool situation" because there's also the Bay Cove pool (the "bullseye" pool) that juts out into Bay Lake and a large sandy play area with a volleyball court. Our girls were 8 and 5 at the time of our visit, and they really enjoyed the Contemporary pool area. I did too.
