BLT view or no view?

We are thinking of adding on at BLT..... the only problem that I have is that when we stay there the only thing we would want is a MK view. With only %20 being MK view we would be very unhappy if we were shut out. What is your opinion of the likelyhood of being shutout at the 9-10-or 11 month mark? I understand about Christmas, Easter...
Would this bother any of you?

if you try on the 11 month to the day - don't think you will have a problem.

of course you could do the moving thing...

I thought that I would never book a non-savannah=view villa at AKV as my first choice, but I have. I think the MK views will be the best at BLT, but you may find yourself wanting to save a few points every now and then. I think you'll be OK before the 10 month mark.

You might inquire as to what DVC considers a MK view. I recently returned form the World and noticed that quite a number of the rooms facing MK will only have a view of the parking lot or the monorail. It appeared to me that unless you were on an upper level of the tower, you wouldn't have much of a view.

There will only be approximately 42 MK view rooms. That includes studios, one, and two bedroom units.

Booking a MK view room if you are not a BLT owner may be a challenge.

Remember, The DVC intro material mentioned that what would normally be classified as less desirable parking lot view, is actually the "premium" level MK view..

It will be interesting to find out what % of rooms will have a parital MK firework view from their balconies. (i.e. will the "lake view" rooms closest to MK view be hotly contended items at check-in?

I don't think it will be a problem at 11months. We have BLT points and I know that I want to try the MK view at first, but not every time (if so, DH is going to have to buy me some more points. ;) ). We have stayed at CR many times. Whenever we have stayed in the tower, it has been a Bay Lake View--it is a nice view, too.

I think the increased point values will limit demand and make the MK view available for the first few weeks anyway. However, if it were me and I knew my dates I would call at 11 months. You can always change.

There's a similiar situation with boardwalk view at BWV. Since they created that category, I've never been shutout at 11 months even for the ever popular first week of December.

I actually think we will probably stay at BLT for a few nights and then switch over to a lower point stay. We actually wont be able to stay at BLT until late 2010 as we already have 3 vacations scheduled for next year LOL

Actually, there are MK view grand villas, too. I believe I read here that there are 7 MK view GVs and 7 lake view GVs. Although 14 seems like a lot...wonder if that's true?

You mean that all the MK views will not look like the pictures in the brochure????????????

even worst they won't look what it is the model rooms at SSR.

they should be showing the bay lake not the MK with firework view.

all ready know that immediately not going to get the MK view. the standard view will be fine.

some of the views of the MK will be the parking lot - but also some will be side (where I don't think parking will be). they will have the best view - looking directly at the MK - not a side view (parking lot views)

some of the parking lot will be standard view - except these to also include the CR view.

who cares - as long as I can go on the roof to see the fireworks - will be happy.

now when I can't then definitley going to look into MK views.

Having a comfortable view of fireworks from your own room is GREAT!! We used to stay at GF and Poly choosing a room with a MK view so when fireworks start we watch them comfortably from our own balcony or window.

I will definitely be bother if I can not get a MK view.
