We are staying at BLT for the first time next week and on the first day we need to go to the GF. I think we should take the monarail, correct? How long will it take? Any thoughts? Thanks.

Yes, I would take the monorail. It's a little bit of a ride because you are going in the opposite direction but we never mind the ride. Have fun at BLT, we stayed there in Oct and LOVED it! We can't wait to go back in June.

Thanks. Do you remember how long it might take? What is the route? TIA

I know someone will come along with the exact time but I have to say I have no idea. It didn't seem that long to me. It goes to TTC, Poly and then GF (with MK after that and back to Contemp). I can't imagine it was more than 15mins, at least it never felt that long to us. I would allow 30 mins from room to GF. If no one else chims in, you could ask them at check in. We found all the staff we encountered to be very helpful and friendly.

Even though the route is simple, you should allow at least 20 minutes to get from your room to the GF. Perhaps a bit more just to be safe if you are on a schedule. Remember that you need to walk from your room at BLT over to Contemporary to catch the local monorail. Once it comes, you'll stop at the TTC, and Poly before getting to the GF. From the GF monorail platform, most of the resort is a short walk - if you can tear yourself away from the sights!

Hey OKW Lover, I'm not to far from you. I live in Scituate. Just wanted to say "HI" to a neighbor! I have family in Plymouth so I'm down there quite a bit.

Nice to meet you! We've got quite a few other DIS'ers in Plymouth too. I've lived in Plymouth all my life so I may know your family if they are long-time residents too.

Going from the Contemporary since that's where you would get on the Resort Monorail, I would say it takes about 10 minutes when you factor in stopping at the Transportation & Ticket Center and the Polynesian before arriving at the Grand Floridian.

Do we have to get off and transfer at TTC or do we just stay on?

Love, love, love Scituate. My dad used to live there, but moved back to Quincy since my step-mom felt like she was out in the boonies....too far from the city for her!! Dad loved it though...great place for his boat.

In any case.....the ride from the CR to GF is going to take at least 15, maybe 20 mins. And that doesn't take into account the wait time for the monorail to come along. It will stop at the TTC, then the Polynesian and then you get to the GF.
