After months of lurking, I am finally posting. Really, most of my questions have already been answered. Thanks so much for all the info. This board has been a lifesaver!

Now, can someone tell me how to get from BLT to Cape May? We have a 5:30 pm adr. How long will travel take? Please keep in mind that this is our first trip, so I have no concept of the transportation system. also, I think I have read that we can go through Epcot. I could be wrong on that. But anyway, I don't know if we will be at Epcot that day and we aren't hopping, so any options will be welcomed.

Thanks so much.

Welcome to non-lurking status! :thumbsup2

One of the great things about BLT is that it's very close to Magic Kingdom - including the Magic Kingdom bus stops. The easiest way to get to Cape May Cafe at Beach Club is to walk to the MK bus stop and take the next bus to Beach Club. You'll be able to return to BLT the same way as long as it's within 2 hours after MK closes that day. I would allow an hour for the trip.

You can technically walk through Epcot to Beach Club, but that's a long trek. To do that you have to take the monorail from the Contemporary to the TTC (ticket & transportation center), then transfer to the Epcot monorail. This takes you to the front entrance of Epcot. From there it's about a mile walk through Future World, into World Showcase and through the "back door" in between the UK and France pavilions.

You can also take a cab, but that's less fun and more expensive. :)

I agree with walking to the Magic Kingdom bus station and getting on the bus to the Beach Club. I would also agree to allow yourself about an hour when going there just incase.

Now if you didn't mind taking a taxi and the cost that goes with it, that would take you about 10 - 15 minutes and you would need to get one from the main entrance of the Contemporary. However there are usually 2 or 3 taxi's that just park there incase anyone needs one, although if they are not bell service will call for one and it will be there in 5 minutes.

How about taking the bus from BLT to DHS, and then walk right over to the water taxi. It does the loop around YC/BC/BW/Swan/Dolphin. Nice ride.

The water taxis are SLOWWWW.

We tried that route once from POP Century. It took almost 1.5 hours to make it to the Beach Club from Pop Century.

The bus from MK to Beach club would be ok, just make sure that the busses will be running after you finish dinner- or if you are doing an early breakfast that the busses are running early enough to get you there.

My vote is for the taxi. Our cab fare from Pop Century to Beach Club was $7- with a total fare of $10 including tip. The time from resort to resort - less than 10 min. Much better in my opinion.

Doing it this way will also require admission to Epcot. Which means either using a park day or having the PH option if you were at another park that day.

Some have posted that they have talked to the front Gate CM's and they have let them in with out admission to get to the IG, but I can see this being abused.

I agree it's a nice ride, but I wouldn't want to take it if I had to be somewhere at a certain time. The challenge with this route is that it requires taking the bus from the Contemporary, and that bus will stop at the Poly and GF before going to DHS. I'd allow 1.5-2 hours for this route.

I agree because the bus stopping at the Polynesian and Grand Floridian does take up time and will make it a lot longer.

Here are the possible options...
1. a cab
2. walk over to MK and take the YC/BC bus from there.
3. take the bus, from BLT/CR to DHS and then either walk or boat over to the YC/BC
4. if at Epcot that day, exit the park at the rear entrance/exit...International Gateway, and walk to YC/BC (about 5 mins)
5. if at DHS, walk or boat to YC/BC
6. if at AK, take the bus from there to YC/BC

I would think it would actually be easier to be at a park that afternoon, and then take the resort bus to YC/BC from that park (or boat or walk..depending on were you are). But, if you're at BLT, changing or such, then it may just be easiest to walk over to MK (about an 8 min walk) then hop on the YC/BC bus..could be a bit of a wait (0-15 mins).

To get back to BLT, after dinner, it depends on what you are doing. If you want to go there, directly, then you can take the bus back to MK and either monorail or walk back to BLT. If you want to head to a different park, then do that and take their bus back to BLT. You could go to DHS, if it is still open, and take the CR/BLT bus from there, but you do have to either walk or boat, but you don't have to worry about having to actually enter the park.

If all else fails, and you don't find a park that is open, and you don't want to pay for a cab, you can take the DTD bus from YC/BC and then transfer to the CR/BLT bus there. But...that is really time consuming.
