In a one bedroom on 8th floor...that has a perfect view of monorail exiting Contemporary, GF and Castle in the distance and perfect view of parking lot below...Feels like I wasted some points on the Theme Park View...

Looking at the building this seems like a standard view...my room was almost closest section to Contemporary...am I missing something?

Can you see fireworks from your room? Theme Park view.

When we took the tour at BLT our guide told us not to waste our points on theme park view as he thought it was really a parking lot view.

Standard view is floors 1 to 3, next year will be 1 to 5.

I always find this type of posting interesting. We had the last theme park view on the 9th floor, facing the comtemporary...disappointing, yes, the kids were thrilled...worth the points to watch from our private balcony, oh YEAH...next time we got the 12th floor the extreme other end theme park view was to die for.....worth every point! The parking lot doesn't move, it's always been there...you have to decide if that is going to wreck your enjoyment and book accordingly.

Which room is it?

I have a ressie scheduled in 2013 and am using the postings/map on the BLT thread as basis for my requests

From the description, sounds like its an XX26 unit....there are only two 1 BR TPV units on each floor.

It doesn't hurt to do a request, but with so few 1 BR TPV units, your odds of still getting a XX26 unit are pretty high.

I just posted some pics I took of 7930, a 2 BR dedicated unit, which is the furthest away from the MK. Was not an awesome view, particularly for fireworks, but still a very Disney view.

One of the reasons we will probably never spend the extra points to stay TPV, especially now that there will be SV rooms on floors 3 and 4 that used to be TPV.

We were there a little while ago and ended up with a 2nd floor SV room that a few floors up would be TPV and I realized then that it was worth the savings to just book SV and hope for the best.

We have also had some of the LV rooms on the northern end and were able to see fireworks from the balcony as well.

For us, the view is secondary to the location of the resort so SV is fine for us.

What is the first thing you notice when you look at this photo:

I took this photo to capture the hidden Mickeys on the horse's harness, but my wife pointed out that that might not be the first thing everyone will notice first.

Ever since BLT opened, there have been postings in which people have said they can't see the Magic Kingdom because of the parking lot. We've had the Theme Park View and I really enjoyed watching the monorails go by, the ferry boats on Seven Seas Lagoon, and even the way the Grand Floridian caught the early morning sunlight.

I guess it all depends on what you want to see.

Our studio was 8118...I believe my daughter posted the pictures where the link is. I just ask for high room...and take what is given...although we ate debating a GV for two days for our 2014 family trip...since we can watch fireworks from the TotW lounge, I'm mulling over the points and will have to wait for the 7 month reservation to see what is available since its memorial weekend. Want it the first two days, rather than the last...but time will tell...I'll take a family vote at the appropriate time. Will book two two bedrooms at BCV to hold space and then 8 nights at OKW (hopefully HH) both at 11 months out...

Be aware that at 7 months out for any time around Memorial Day 2013 including the Thurs to Sun before Memorial Day, the only thing you couldn't get at BLT was standard view rooms. Everything else including GVs was available.

My son thinks its the greatest so all is good...we see monorail out of Contemporary, Castle, Space Mountain, Fireworks...the crowds are worse :)

Ok... The car alarms and delivery trucks backing up into side of contemporary going beep beep beep ...makes me hate this view...

I am now in 1 bedroom lake view on 14th floor and like it more...
I would attach pics of both rooms if I knew how...

Did you ask to be moved??

If we didn't have to move 2 other times as noted above I would have...we checked in at 8:00pm so I knew I get screwed...the point waste bothers me...you need a room on the north side to justify the point expense...

The car alarms during the fireworks are ridiculous. It was the worst during the Halloween fireworks.

We had a studio on the 9th floor ending in 18 and loved it! But i could see being disappointed if my room had ended in 28. You do kind of roll the dice a little

Ours ended in 28 and we loved it, but we were on the 12th floor so I'm figuring that's what made it okay?

I think you have to know what the theme park "views" are going in which a lot of people don't (understandable).

Also, the worst theme park views are going to become standard view in 2013, so the chance to get something very awful will be less.
