BLT Studio Worth It?

I don't really get all the hate for BLT. While most of what's mentioned here is true, OP will have to decide if it impacts their stay or not.

Yes they are among the smallest DVC studios.
Yes they still have old style pull-out sofa beds, smallish TVs and no built-in USB ports.
Yes the resort is due for a refurbishment.

If the party is two adults--maybe even with 1-2 kids--can bring own phone chargers and don't mind a 40" TV, above issues are incidental.

I stayed in a studio less than a year ago and its condition was perfectly acceptable. No battered furniture or stained carpets. That condition may vary from room to room, but that's true of every resort to a degree. If one appreciates what the Contemporary has to offer (location, theme, dining, etc.) and none of the drawbacks are deal-breakers, I wouldn't hesitate to stay there.

We are the same. We love BLT. Stayed there in a Standard View Studio over Labor Day weekend, and, at least in our studio, everything was in good repair. We like BLT because of the kitchenette setup. It is much superior to any of the other DVC studios as it is it's own private area. The downside of that is that it takes room from the living area and bathroom. However, if you are just 2 people it is more than fine and the functionality of it is great. Plus, you are walkable from the MK and you can monorail over to Epcot.

I know it's been mentioned but one part of staying at BLT that I think is a great plus is just being on the monorail loop (but I admit I don't know much about Coronado or the area). While we haven't stayed at BLT yet, we just stayed at Poly earlier this year and loved the access to the monorail. We went over to Grand Floridian Cafe for dinner one night, and another day after a pool day we wanted to leave the resort and hit up both Grand Floridian and Contemporary and just walked around, checked out the shops, and got some snacks at each resort and it was a great night.

I'm not sure who uses the TV at Disney - and why the TV would make any difference. We don't spend that much time in the room - and when we do, we aren't watching TV. The room is mostly a sleep/shower/breakfast and laundry location.
We do spend more time in the room when we were at Aulani or Hilton Head.

And, as a former IT Security professional NEVER use built in USB ports in public places - including hotels and airports (especially hotels, where a hacker can use a screwdriver without risk of getting caught). ALWAYS bring your own plug and charge cable. An electrical outlet can't deliver a payload to your phone that steals your bank info.
