BLT Studio rooms....seem awfully small

I really...REALLY appreciate all the replies. Your comments cemented my original thought......the BLT studios are NOT meant for families. Not to worry, I won an Ebay auction tonight....we're staying at OKW 1 BR. My Wife is happy because she loves having a way to wash the clothes and cook a meal. So if any of you will be at Disney the first week in Sept, I'll see you there

I hope your EBay winning doesn't require you to pay a $95 fee when you check in. If it does, get your money back immediately. That is an RCI trade and they are not allowed to resell them. Your reservation could be cancelled.

OKW is a great resort and the one bedroom is the largest one bedroom on the property.

the studios at BLT are small - but the 1-bedroom villa is second only to OKW and AKV

if you pay cash and not use points - the 1-bedroom is definitely worth going for because it is not twice the price (which it is in points)

OKW has the largest studio - it has 2 queen beds - so you could considefr it next time you want a studio. like all studios you can use the laundry mat (at OKW there is one at each pool) for free.

This thread as me nervous! BLT is our home, but we've only stayed in a 1 BR or dedicated 2 BR. We will be staying in a studio in December, but it will only be for 3 nights.

We've stayed at BLT in a studio several times, and it is smaller than the other studios. It's only DH and myself so it's fine for us, but I think it would be pretty cramped with adding 2 children.

We found that the OKW studios were a good size and offered 2 beds as opposed to a bed and a pullout couch.

To each his own I guess. Yes, the studios at BLT are smaller than other studios. But, we have stayed in one with no issues at all. And that is my dh, 6'4'', dd, 5'10'', and myself, 5'8''. Dd and I take the bed, dh gets the sleep sofa...and that's the case wherever we stay. He snores and tosses and turns, so he gets to sleep alone!!!! And yes, it's crowded with that sleep sofa open.
But, it's not an issue for us once we're up and the sofa is a sofa again. The storage at BLT is better than expected.
Yes, the one bedrooms are terrific. But, we don't have any issue with the studios....even at BLT.

And the really funny thing??? Sometimes I hang out with my girl friend at WDW. For instance, this Dec, I check out of SSR on a Wed...then I'm heading to BWV to spend that last night with her, so we can do DME together and fly home. And I'll sleep on her sofa bed...as a sofa, not unfolded. I'm very comfy that way. I do it all the time. I'm just to lazy to unfold it, make it up, and then fold it back up in the morning. It has nothing to do with the comfort....I like it unfolded as well.

You must be like my husband, the man can fall asleep on the driveway!

Mine too. He was in the Navy and his berth was right below the flight deck. So he learned to sleep w/ F-18s taking off and landing right over his head.

We were fine when we stayed at BLT in a studio, do not worry. It was my DH, myself, & our 2 kids. We had to maneuver some things to fit but it was a wonderful stay. We enjoyed the monorail view & watching wishes at night when we were not at a park. We liked we could walk to MK in the morning or ride the monorail to Epcot.

I wanted to wait till we got back to comment, it was an RCI and we experienced no issues....paid the $95 and had a blast. You are right about the 1 BR rooms being large Only mistake I made was forgetting that OKW doesn't have elevators and me being me, I requested a 3rd floor room so the kids could enjoy the view. Do you know how to never forget that OKW doesn't have elevators? Forget it once
