BLT, like all
DVC resorts, doesn't sell you a specific time for a specific unit, but rather points that represent a certain percentage of the year. These points are redeemable for a room at BLT or any of the other DVC resorts (and can be traded outside the DVC system as well). How many points one needs to reserve a studio at BLT depends on how many nights you are planning to stay each year, during what season, and which view one prefers. That being said, the minimum buy-in for BLT is 160 points (I think -- I had heard something about it going up to 200, but I'm not sure that's true) for someone who is not already a DVC member. If you are a member, the minimum buy-in is 100 points.
With 160 points (using the 2010
points charts), you can do the following things:
11 Days in a Standard View Studio in Adventure season
7 days in a Magic Kingdom view studio in Choice Season
7 days in a Lake View studio in Magic season
And a hundred other combinations and permutations. And you aren't limited to studios. You could also do 4 days in a Lake View two-bedroom during Choice Season, or 2 nights in a lake View grand villa during Adventure season. All of these can be accomplished with 160 points.
Right now, 160 points is running at about $17,120 including incentives, and includes matching developer points that can be used at Saratoga Springs,
Disneyland, or RCI.
