BLT should we online checkin?

Hi! We are renting points, lakeview studio at BLT next week. Should we do the online checkin through the link from Dave's? It lists various #floors to request but not much else. Which would you suggest? Or skip the online check in?

Rooms are assigned starting at 10 days out. Adding the room request to the reservation is the best way but it may be too late for that. It's better to add the request when the reservation is booked.

I would request a high floor.

By doing online checkin you will be able to go direct to the room after receiving the room ready text. without going to the front desk. I think that is worth it.

That's not an absolute. Yiu can't go straight to the room unless you do online checkin, but doing online checkin doesn't guarantee that you can go straight to the room. It's never worked for me!

I did request high floor when I made the reservation. I am just asking because the choices on the online checkin are for specific high floors, or close to skyway, things like that. Wasn't sure if I should do one of those?

Online check in is a Disney resort product designed to get guests to go to their room and allow Disney to reduce front deck staff. It isn't a DVC product, DVC just added it to give us another perk. The list of requests are not DVC requests and they really don't apply very well.

Requests are just that. You are guaranteed a LV. Pick the online option that best suits your needs. BLT is a great resort, enjoy your stay!

Location requests are better made through Member Services. When renting though David's that means putting in a request that David's then has the owner make through MS. Since you have made such a request, you should not make any further requests on the request page when doing online check-in. Doing so will wipe out the request you made. Instead, you should do online check-in but just skip the request page (which you can do and still complete online check-in)..

I used Touring Plans room request. They faxed a request. We just stayed at BLT last week and our room was PERFECT! 8408 (lakeview studio)

We also used Touring Plans room request service last May. We got the exact room I had requested. We stayed at BLT as part 2 of a split stay and did online check-in ahead of time. We also went to BLT on check-in day to drop off our luggage. We went to a park and got a text around noon that our room was ready.
