BLT Room Numbering???

Can anyone explain to me how the rooms are numbered at BLT? Is it starting at 7000 or 7100 for the 1st floor, then going up by hundreds for each floor? I just know that the Grand Villas are in the 8500's and this was the only thing that I could think of to make sense...

Aren't the Grand Villas on the 15th floor? Or is that only some of them? If so what is Disney thinking? I thought high rises always labeled rooms numbers by their floor number and even numbered rooms are on one side of the hall and odd on the other. Has anyone taking the tour of BLT noticed the room numbering system?

Yes, they are on the 15th floor, but I am pretty sure they were numbered in the 8500s...also, they probably couldn't use low numbers because they are probably already used at the main Contemporary Resort...

The explanation I got here when I posted the same question is that the first two numbers of the room are added together to get the floor number, which follows the numbering convention used in the Contemporary.

So, how does that work with the bottom floors? Are 1st floor rooms 10__, 2nd floor rooms 20__, etc? Very interesting...

Your guess is as good as mine. I think that's probably it, but again, I have no idea. Maybe someone who's stayed at the Contemporary will chime in.

There aren't any rooms in the cont. tower before the 5th (or is it 6th?) floor. The first couple of floors are the conference rooms and check-desk, and the fourth floor is the concourse.

So do the first floor of rooms in Contemporary start with 33? or 42? There has to be a formula. Could some posters that have stayed at the CR let us know what room numbers and what floor you were on? Thanks.

The more I think about it the numbering system cannot be based on a formula where you add the first two numbers together. If the Grand Villas are on the 15th floor---8 plus 5 equals 13 not fifteen.

You mean we might have to wait until after August 4th to hear from posters that actually stay at BLT? :

The All Ears blog shows a photo of a GV tour - it was 8417. This was presumably the 1st level entrance to the main living area. That would be 12. I've also seen photos of GV entrances that were 85--. I assume those are the 2nd level GV entrances since each one has a hall entrance on each level. So if the lounge is the 16th floor, the GVs would be the 14th/15th floors. None of the photos I've seen match up with the numbering system suggested unless they are counting the floors in a very strange way.

Ditto -- it does explain the numbering. So, if and when they build a second tower, do you think the second tower will begin numbering will begin numbering those floor starting with 17 or would it be 18 when you count the lounge on top? Hmmm, rumor, rumor, rumor.
