BLT-Room Decor-layout

We've been waiting for BLT or CRV or whatever you want to call it for a long time. I'm thinking that the decor will be quite chic with sleek lines.

Another thread mentions that someone has seen the rooms and that they are awesome, so lets speculate...what will the reaction be to the rooms?

OK, I tried to post a poll, but had no luck.

We already know what the rooms will look like:

I'm sure they'll have the same modern furnishings from the recent CR tower refurb--probably not identical but still very close. Here are some images from allearsnet:

The most vocal people will probably express appreciation for them. Many will find it not to be their cup 'o tea, but personal taste usually isn't worth a protracted debate.

I was kind of speculating on what the overall impression was going to be, and how happy everyone would be with the design choices.

Do you think everyone will be satisfied with what they see? Do you think Disney will make it identical to CR decor?

BTW, The BCV decor is not identical to BC, nor is AKV decor identical to AKL.

There are balconies according to the plans that DISsers dug up. They all appear to be recessed which makes sense given the heighth of the building.

Personally, I doubt the decor will be the same as the CR. As pointed out above, DVC decor has always been different from the hotel rooms. I would expect it to be sleek and "contemporary" as befits the theme.

I didn't mean "identical" in the sense that all of the furnishings would be replicated. But the styles will be very, very similar.

Put it this way...the CR villas will NOT be reminiscent of the decor at AKL, Beach Club, Old Key West, etc. It will be very similar to the modern, boutique hotel-look of the CR Tower images above.

I think it will be pretty cool myself, and may buy a few points. My primary concern is how the look will hold-up over time. The CR Tower has been refurbished a handful of times to better mirror present-day perception of what is "modern" or "contemporary." Thus far we haven't seen much indication that DVC is budgeting for wholesale updates of villas.

Some resorts have a decor that is more timeless in nature. But I'm troubled by the thought of how these CR rooms may be perceived in another 20 or 30 years.

If you want to get a good sample of member opinion, try starting a poll in another thread. Most people are seem reluctant to post negative impressions...particularly if there is a chance they will get flamed by those who disagree.

I think you'll find people are more open and honest when responding to an anonymous poll.

To create a poll, start a new thread as you normally would and check the box near the bottom that reads "Yes, post a poll with this thread." Also be sure to specify the number of responses you want to offer. After you submit the thread you'll be taken to a second screen which allows you to enter the voting options.

You're right, I like the decor at AKL but for my taste, IMO, only I do not like AKV, the decor is too dark and the kitchen is dreary. Yes, I fully accept that AKV lovers won't agree which is why I leave it all for you!

It will be interesting to see what they come up with!
