Not sure if this has been asked and answered here, but has Disney released any info on the Rooftop viewing area at BLT? Like how to get access to it, what will be the procedure? We are going to be at BLT Dec 30-31, and maybe Jan 1-2. I would assume it would be hard to get up there on New Year's Eve, but some other night would also be nice. :rolleyes1

Unfortunately, no details about access have been released.

Ugh! I hope details emerge soon. We are staying there in October and have been wondering the same thing as PatMcDuck.

I bet it's closed for a "private function" on New Year's eve, just like California Grill is on July 4th every year.

Correct me if I am wrong, but I thout the roof top bar and the roof top general area were two different things and that even if in the future the roof top lounge was private and/or closed that the general roof top area would be "dvc public"?:confused3

The details about BLT seem to *really* be DVC's best kept secret. There isn't anything out there yet to confirm rumors.

For what it's worth, our Guide said that the club would be only available to BLT members but, again, I'm sure that Disney can and will use it for private functions. Only time will tell.

The roof top doesn't belong to the DVC, it is noted in the legal documents that it belongs to Disney. Disney is free to do with it what they want.

Currently the word is that DVC Members who are booked at BLT will be given limited access during their stay.

On our trip 2 weeks ago we saw a group of people out on the rooftop deck one day. Looks like the deck is pretty large  DH and I are also booked there NYE this year, so we'll keep our fingers crossed that we get some kind of roof access!

I am a DVC member (BCV) staying at BLT on cash reservation, so I am not sure if we could get access anyway. We will waitlist for 2 of the 4 nights when the 7 month window opens. (we will not even bother to WL Dec 30 and 31)

Well, we will see what happens. My son is in a wheelchair, so we will not be in the parks as the New Years strikes. I think to have a wheelchair in those crowds could be dangerous for him and other guests (tripping over chair or getting hit by it)

Whatever! Just want to go to WDW!

From what I have heard, members wishing to view fireworks from the rooftop lounge will have to make advance reservations thru MS. With 300-odd two bedroom equivalents all holding up to 9 people, there will be nearly 3000 guests with access at any one time. (And that's not including CR Tower guests, who may just have access as well.)

No way the lounge will hold that many people. And other posters could very well be correct about blackout dates / other functions.

Rather than make it FIFO, it appears DVC will be taking reservations. But still no word on when the details will be resolved and reservations accepted.
