In the process of returning from our visit to WDW. Did the tour, spoke to a guide.

Wife and kids seem to like BLT the best. Why does it seem smaller than BCV or BWV to me? Does anyone know exact room size. How about closets, does BLT have less closet space? Seems smaller for some reason.

Also, current offer seems to be 99/point + 1 time double points you purchase. Offers about to expire. Any ideas about new incentives. Seems like a bad time to be ending incentives. I have a strange feeling (this is just my opinion) but in a year or two we may be able to buy DVC for a lot less than it's priced right now.

iirc it is smaller than BCV and BWV and others too.

Will try to find link to square ft threads or others will be along who know that info.

Take a look at dvcnews.com; try this link for current incentives. I don't know for sure what guide told but I don't seem to remember hearing double points was one currently being offered ( but that doesn't mean that it isn't )

You never know what the future will bring, sometimes it pays to wait and see. And then of course there is the resale market which depending upon resort can be the best savings overall.

Best wishes on your planning :goodvibes

Can you explain what is meant by "1 time double points?" Does this mean that if you buy 160 points, Disney will give you 160 additional points?

The point match is exactly as you re-stated. . .if you buy 160 they give you 160. If you buy 300 they would give you 300.

Thanks for the answer. But let me ask some more questions: If I buy 160 points, does this mean Disney gives me a deed for 320 points? Or is it just an extra 160 points for the current UY? Is the offer good on BLT, AKV, SSR, and VGC? And finally, is the offer good only for non-members?

I am not sure what the current double points offer is, but the last one was a one time allotment of 160 developer points for use at Saratoga Springs that had to be used by Oct 3rd of this year.

I'm far from an expert on incentives, but I'll go out on a limb here and say they are not offering a 2 for 1 deal. Rest assured the extra points are a one time shot.

This is JMO, but I think that the double points is nothing more than a new buyer being given 09 points now for UY's that have already started, but it makes it seem like you are getting extra.

For example, those that buy now and get a Feb UY, will be getting their 09 points right away and then another set in Feb 2010. I think that when the guides sell it, they make it seem like you are getting something extra, when in fact, you are not as it is typical for DVC to give current year points when you add on during the UY (you never have to wait for the next one or no one would ever add on except right at the start).

Now, if I am wrong, and new buyers are being given additional points on top of the 09 points, then it would have to be similar to developer points--but my understanding is that those are not incentives right now.

The studios are smaller at BLT than the other DVC resorts. We just completed our first DVC stay at BWV, BLT and VWL. BLT was definitely smaller than the other two. But, I believe that the 1 and 2 bedrooms are something like the 3rd largest of all the resorts.

Rumor has that the BLT incentives will be worse when the current ones end on Tuesday (at least for awhile).

As far as prices in the future, I think that there is always a chance things will be less with the next incentive and in a few years, BLT will be standard in the resale market so a good chance that contracts will be able to be bought cheaper that way.

Of course, if you start the process now and next week, the BLT incentives are indeed better, you can ask that they rewrite the contracts. You have until you 10 days after you sign and return the papers to rescind the deal. When I was buying in March, better incentives came out April 1st, so I contacted my guide and they redid things so I got the better price (I had not closed yet).

Good luck!
