BLT question

If we rent points (lakeview) for BLT is there anywhere to watch fireworks?
I know there is a lounge but I think it's for dvc members only...is this correct?

The lounge is for DVC members- you can however go to the observation deck at the Contemporary and watch them. If you aren't worried about music you could wach from the elevator bank wondows.

think the rules say DVC and guest - your ID will say DVC - so you can do it. of course it depends upon the CM at the desk.

i have never been asked for the DVC blue card - but some have.

If the rules state 1 DVC member and a guest, I have to assume that all family members staying in the room are welcome also. At least I hope that's how it works.

If you are renting, technically you are not a guest of a DVC member as the member is profiting from the exchange. Therefore your KTTW card should not show "DVC member" on it. However, if the member did not tell MS that you are a renter, you probably will be able to go to the TOTW lounge and observation deck as a DVC member/guest and your KTTW card will show the words "DVC Member".

You can see the fireworks from the elevator lobbies, especially the north elevator or as stated in prior posts, you can see the fireworks from the observation deck at CR. Some watch the fireworks on the skybridge between CR and BLT, but that really blocks the walkway.

If you room key says "DVC Member" on it (and chances are very much in your favor that it will), just go to the first floor of BLT after 5 pm and show it to the CM. He/She will escort you to the elevator and send you up to the TOTWL & Deck.

Otherwise, you can take the skyway to the Contemporary and just before you enter the CR, you will see a large deck. That's a good place to watch, too.

we stayed in a lakeview view room and just asked when we checked in for a room looking at the park. We could see the fireworks perfectly from our balcony on the 8th floor. Also they play the music on the TV, so we got the full effect. We where directly in the center of the left side of the building (if looking at it with MK to your back).
